A great success of Archaeology Directorate, Tourism Department during recent 44th extended session of World Heritage Committee of UNESCO on 22-7-2021 that Lahore fort & Shalamar Garden have been removed from list of endangered heritage site.
It is worth mentioning here that Prior to ongoing Session, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO in its draft design for 44th Session has proposed the inscription of Lahore Fort and Shalamar Garden in the List of World Heritage in danger due to dangers to building due to OLT and adjoining area under illegal occupation.
The recent efforts of Archaeology Directorate, GOP for its conservation included:
1.Preservation of outer walls. Conservation of interior walls, pathways, walk ways etc.
2.Saving outer walls from rain water by initiating buffer zone through LDA
3.The risk of OLT and it's vibration has been minimised by diverting its track 200 ft. away from Heritage building
4.Restoration of 1820 William Moorcroft pavilion
5.Photographic gallery showing history of preservation efforts
6.New directional and information boards installation
7.Horticulture development through PHA
8.Illumination at night etc.

In view of the best efforts made recently by Archaeology Directorate, Government of the Punjab for the Conservation & Preservation of World Heritage Sites of Lahore, the UNESCO Committee agreed and approved the amended draft of Pakistan and rejected the proposed draft decisions to put the Lahore Fort and Shalamar Garden on the List of World Heritage in danger.Great work by TEAM Tourism and Archaeology Directorate.Need of the hour is to continue these efforts for the conservation of this World Heritage Site.

Heritage of Lahore.
Some paintings of Erum Musthaq documenting the nostalgia of Mughal Architecture. First is, a section of great pond of Hiran Minar (Sheikhupura), the other two are Jahangir's tomb (shahdara). Both places are near Lahore. Both locations are close to my heart since Banyan trees are a pleasure to paint.

Poonch house, Chuburji children Park is being restored with new slide, swings repaired, railing and broken wall / gate restored and badminton court made by C&W officers. Local residents thanked S&GAD for taking care of their problems.
