The applicants should preferably have at least 02 years experience as an Advocate of High Court
The applicants should have a qualification of LL.M./Bar-at-Law
Excellent Communication and Argumentative Skills
Skilled in Legal Research and Legal Drafting
Expertise in English and Urdu Language

The applicants should have 02 years experience as an Advocate

The Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, while declaring the Notification of Election Commission of Pakistan as ‘unconstitutional’, revived the Election Programme for general elections to the Punjab Assembly. The elections in Punjab shall be held on 14.05.2023, as per the directions of the Honourable Apex Court.

A Division Bench of Honourable Lahore High Court while acquitting the accused persons charged for the offences under sections 365-A, 148 and 149 Pakistan Penal Code, 1898 read with sections 7 and 21-L of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, held that an accused cannot be convicted on the basis of his alleged abscondence only when otherwise direct evidence produced by the prosecution against him is not sufficient to hold him guilty.

Our Managing Partner Mr. Zain Qureshi appeared on behalf of Appellants/Accused persons in the Criminal Appeal. The Judgement has been reported as 2021 MLD 980

Our Team under the guidance of our Firm Head Mr. M. Akram Qureshi, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, appeared before a Division Bench of Honourable Islamabad High Court on behalf of CEO Therapy Works and his workers, in the appeals filed in murder case.

We successfully argued before the Court that none of the workers of Therapy Works was involved in facilitation or abetment of Zahir Zakir Jaffer in commission of the offences committed by him. Our team also ably conveyed to the Court that there is no evidence on record which could prove against the CEO and employees of Therapy Works the allegations of destruction of evidence or obstructing a police officer in performance of his duties.

Our Managing Partner Mr. Zain Qureshi, Senior Associates Mr. Latif Bhutta and Ms. Aateka Shuja Baba Advocates had filed a private complaint on behalf of Mr. Amjad Mehmood, one of the workers of Therapy Works who was stabbed by Zahir Zakir Jaffer while the Therapy Works team went to his house for his medical intervention. Amjad Mehmood of Therapy Works, in his private complaint, had also mentioned that the Therapy Works team was the one that had informed the police about the incident, and its workers were the star witnesses of this occurrence. However, the investigation team, collusively and maliciously, involved them as accused persons in this case.

The Division Bench of the Honourable Islamabad High Court, while appreciating the case put forth by Our Team, upheld the judgement of learned Trial Judge, Mr. Muhammad Ata Rabbani, who had acquitted the CEO and workers of Therapy Works as there was no actual evidence to establish charges against them.

Last Friday, MAQ & Co. was invited to attend the on “Does the Constitution Matter?” at the Lahore High Court organized by Qanoondan in collaboration with Courting The Law and the Lahore School of Law.

Team MAQ & Co. headed by its Founding Partner Mr. M. Akram Qureshi with assistance of its Managing Partner Mr. Zain Qureshi represented former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Mr. Imran Khan in his bail petitions before Lahore High Court on Friday. All the bail petitions were accepted by the Honourable Court and Mr. Imran Khan has been granted transitory pre-arrest bail in 9 different frivolous cases registered against him.

Our Managing Partner Mr. Zain Qureshi represented Crescent Educational Trust before Honourable Mr. Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court in a matter concerning the application of The Punjab Industrial Relations Act, 2010 (PIRA 2010) to persons employed in a charitable and not for profit trust.

Mr. Qureshi apprised the Honourable Court that Section 1(3)(h) limits the applicability of PIRA 2010 to any establishment or industry other than those run on non-commercial basis. He successfully managed to convince the Court that the provisions of PIRA 2010 are not applicable to Crescent Educational Trust because none of its trustees, their family members or any other person draws any salary, benefit or profit from the income generated by the Trust.

The Honourable Court while accepting the Petition, cancelled the registration of labour union formed in Crescent Educational Trust. The judgement has been reported as 2022 CTD 1384 and 2022 PLC 180.
