گوادر کو 100 میگاواٹ بجلی فراہم کرنے کا منصوبہ تکمیل کے آخری مراحل میں پہنچ گیا۔ذرائع کے مطابق فروری میں گوادر کے لیے 100 میگاواٹ بجلی کے منصوبے کی کمیشننگ ہوگی جس کے لیے گزشتہ دنوں پاکستان اور ایران کے اعلی حکام نے جائزہ بھی لیا۔

یورپی یونین کے ایک اعلیٰ سطحی وفد نے بدھ کے روز گوادر کا ایک روزہ دورہ کیا۔ وفد کی قیادت Hervc Juvin ممبر کمیٹی برائے انٹرنشنل ٹریڈ کررہے تھے جبکہ وفد میں Virginie Joran ممبر کمیٹی برائے انٹرنیشنل مارکیٹ اور دیگر شامل تھے۔ ڈائریکٹر جنرل گوادر ڈویویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی مجیب الرحمن قمبرانی نے وفد کو گوادر آمد پر تفصیلی بریفنگ دی ۔ ڈائریکٹر جنرل جی ڈی اے نے وفد کو بتایا کہ گوادر اپنی قدرتی جغرافیائی وجود کے باعث ہمیشہ عالمی معشیتوں کے توجہ کا مرکز رہا ہے۔ اورگہرے پانی میں بندرگاہ کی تعمیر کے بعد گوادر کی اہمیت اور بڑھ گٸی ہے جو کہ خطہ میں شپنگ کا مختصر تریں روٹ ہے ۔ گوادر شہر کی اس عالمی اہمیت و حیثیت کے پیش نظر سمارٹ پورٹ سٹی ماسٹر پلان ڈیزائن کیا گیا ہے۔ اور جی ڈی اے ماسٹر پلان کی روشنی میں شہر کو عالمی معیار کے مطابق تعمیر و ترقی کے عمل سے گزار رہی ہے مستقبل میں یہ شہر عالمی سطح پر معاشی و سیاحتی مرکز کے طور پر ابھرے گا۔ انہو ں نے وفد کو مزید بتایا کہ ماسٹر پلان کے تحت پچیس سو ایکڑ اراضی پر مشتمل سنٹرل بزنس ڈسٹرکٹ، گوادر فری زون، انٹرنیشنل اٸرپورٹ سمیت صحت، پانی، بجلی، تعلیم،سیاحت اور کھیل کے منصوبوں پرکام جاری ہے ۔ وفد نے تعمیر وترقی کے مجوزہ پلان اور جی ڈی اے کی کردار کو سراہا وفد نے گوادر میں سرمایہ کاری کے مواقع و سازگار ماحول پر تبادلہ خیال کیا اور ماہیگیری سمیت مختلف شعبوں میں ٹیکنیکل سپورٹ فرام کرنے میں دلچسپی ظاہر کی۔

Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Khalid Al-Falih arrived in Pakistan over the weekend and has already visited the deep-water port of Gwadar to review the site of the planned oil city. He and his team were received by top representatives of the coalition government. The visiting Saudi delegation and their hosts discussed plans for signing a number of investment agreements in the coming month, including petrochemical, refining, renewable energy, and mining.
Talking to reporters, Al-Falih said, “Saudi Arabia wants to make Pakistan’s economic development stable through establishing an oil refinery and partnership with Pakistan in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)”.

According to the Saudi official, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Saudi Aramco, bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are very strong, “and Saudi Arabia will play a role in Pakistan’s development and prosperity through investment”.

A high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Crown Prince, will visit Pakistan in the last week of November. The Crown Prince is in Pakistan at Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation. Pakistan made significant efforts to convince the KSA to fulfill the MoUs and invest in Pakistan.
Besides the Saudi oil project, the Ministry of Petroleum is working to improve Pakistan’s refining policy in order to attract investment for the construction of new refineries. Reports suggest the government has decided to offer investors a profit margin of 14-15 percent, as opposed to the earlier offer of 9 percent in the draft for policy refinement prepared by the previous government.

The coalition also wants China to assist in the construction of another refinery on the CPEC strip, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to present relevant plans to Beijing during his upcoming visit to China.

The China Overseas Ports Holding Co (COPHC), the operator of Gwadar Port and developer of Gwadar Free Zone, is all set to bring 50 more Chinese companies to Gwadar Free Zone in this year, an official said. 60-acre Phase I of the Gwadar Free Zone (GFZ) had already attracted 38 Chinese and 12 Pakistani firms. The North Free Zone (Phase II of the GFZ) has also been fully developed and two Chinese firms have already started construction activities there. Read more at: https://bit.ly/3SEF0h3
