Tym razem, zainspirowani Waszymi opowieściami w Galerii Gdańsk itd., zdecydowaliśmy się pogrzebać we wspomnieniach o zatraconych, niedostępnych, zniszczonych oraz drastycznie omienionych miejsach w Polsce, i na całym świecie.

Nie możemy się doczekać waszego wkładu w nasz nowy projekt, któy nazwaliśmy "Niewidzialne architektury"!

Czy znasz miejsca, w Polsce albo zagranicą, obecnie już nieistniejące, niedostępne, albo bezpowrotnie zniszczone?
Czy nadal je wspominasz?

W jaki sposób pamiętamy miejsca, które odwiedzaliśmy w przeszłości, a które już nie istnieją? Pomyślmy o placach, klubach, muzeach, szkołach, kościołach, parkach, gdzie dorastaliśmy lub które odwiedzaliśmy podczas specjalnych okazji.
Czy da się odtworzyć dla publiczności te miejsca, poprzez osobistą narrację? I to dla widzów, którzy nigdy tam nie byli?

Projekt „Niewidoczne architektury” jest próbą analizy, odpowiedzenia na te i inne istotne pytania, z wykorzystaniem strategii badań performatywnych (tańca, teatru), i naukowych (wywiadów, grup fokusowych).

Dzięki wspomnieniom Twoim i innych mieszkańców Trójmiasta, zrekonstruujemy y utracone dziedzictwo, i ukażemy je szerszemu gronu odbiorców.

Każdy uczestnik/uczestniczka może wziąć udział w projekcie na swoich zasadach: wchodząc w skład grupy fokusowej, analizując konkretne aspekty tematu, tworząc esej, pomagając w tłumaczeniach, organizując wydarzenia towarzyszące, śledząc działania performatywne, dzieląc się własnymi wspomnieniami – to przykłady obszarów w które można się zaangażować.

Maybe you heard already about the contract that Galeria Gdańsk itd. asks the clients to sign when they want to take an object with a story home. It is a contract that asks you to give the personal reasons why you like exactly that story coming from another citizen of Gdańsk.

What is your connection with it?

Signing the contract, the buyers accept also to host the sellers at their place to continue the conversation about the story and give more space to their personal reflections.

Galeria Gdańsk itd. already visited some buyers, listened to their personal points of view and discovered that the objects in the new contexts create unexpected connections and narrations.

The first buyer Galeria met is Aga, who has also translated the short versions of the stories collected.

Aga ‘adopted’ a t-shirt telling the story about a woman and the mystery about her family origins.

From the interview:

‘’There is something that I realized when I read in deep this story - and it was a nice revelation that i had in that moment…When you discover and reveal something about yourself, there is also a potential of this to be painful for someone. I felt that I could also be a story for someone of my family to hide.
[…]
You come to a point when you realize that you can worry about it or let it go, because it doesn't matter if you will become a story too, and someone will re-tell it; you take care of creating your own story and preserving what it is true and good for you, you try to be truthful to who you are’’.

Dobrze, it's not a secret anymore: Galeria Gdańsk itd. is going to tour the city.

First stop, early in December, at the ancestor of all the city shopping malls: Hala Targowa Gdańsk. With new objects and stories to be taken away, produced in collaboration with Centrum Integracji Społecznej w Gdańsku TPBA koło Gdańskie.

Not only, Galeria wants to tell and share its stories with the city and it's working on a collective way to make it.

Yesterday night we said goodbye to the first location of Galeria together with Duet Uniwersalny (Natala Grzebała + Iga Kurcova) and Bartosz Gorski (Bartolomeo Di Montagna). Can't wait to see the pictures of the closing night!

Very glad to introduce to you all our stunning illustrator Marta Adamus, the first one to join the Galeria Gdańsk Itd. project. Meet madamus at the Galeria on the 22nd of October, 6.30pm.

Intymne, nieusłyszane, wściekłe, niewidzialne i zaangażowane autobiograficzne epizody będą dostępne w GALERII po to, by zostać wysłuchanymi, dotykanymi oraz by zostać zabrane do domu.
Limitowane edycje specjalnie zaprojektowanych przedmiotów zostaną zaprezentowane po raz pierwszy w GALERII GDAŃSK ITD. Przedmioty te przywołają wspomniane historie publiczności i zaczną krążyć po mieście.

For this reason, the amazing participants (or, the tellers) and illustrators of GALERIA GDANSK ITD. have been meeting each other during the last weeks. In the meetings, the individual episodes are orally transmitted from the participant to the illustrator and translated by the latter into drawings. The teller gets the last word on the final result.
Among our tellers: Beata Mokosz, Marcin Żółtowski and Vanessa Szymikowska here busy with a session of corrections to make their episodes, drawn by Konrad Poniewaz, even more precise.

GALERIA GDANSK ITD. is a new museum-shop opening very soon in town.
GALERIA GDANSK ITD. offers the citizenship an alternative and collective portrait of Gdansk itself.

The audience is actually invited in the GALERIA to re-discover the city life through other citizens’ experiences and voices.

These intimate, unheard, furious, invisible and engaged autobiographical episodes are available in the GALERIA to be listened, touched and taken home.

Special editions of design objects presented for the first time in the GALERIA GDANSK ITD. will bring these episodes to the public and start to circulate in the city.

GALERIA GDANSK ITD. is opening its doors on the 22nd of October in Do Studzienki 24, Wrzeszcz. In November it will start to tour the city.

GALERIA GDANSK ITD. is open to everyone and is still searching for new participants and collaborators.
