🌍📚 Erasmus+ Visit to the Univerza na Primorskem / University of Primorska in Koper! 📚🌍

We are happy to share the experience of the trip of Professor KBU Anna Staszewska and Professor KBU Katarzyna Płonka-Bielenin within the framework of the Erasmus+ program to Primorska University.

The visit began with an introduction to the University of Primorska's offerings and future plans at the International Office. The delegation toured the campus and had the opportunity to meet the future Dean of the department. They also engaged with a PhD student from the United States specializing in tourism to discuss program operations in English.

Subsequent meetings included productive discussions with a Polish professor to explore collaboration opportunities. They also met with the Coordinator for Academic Affairs in the Faculty of Management to discuss strategic development and research partnerships.

Our delegation has returned from the International Education Fair in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, held on April 17th and 18th, 2024. It was an fruitful experience, and we would like to share it with you!

🤝 During the fair, we had a unique opportunity to meet many talented university candidates not only from Uzbekistan but also from other countries. It was an amazing experience that allowed us to better understand global educational trends and the needs of future students.

🏛️ Additionally, our delegation had the pleasure of attending a meeting with the Ambasada RP w Taszkencie / Polsha Respublikasining Toshkentdagi elchixonasia RP w Taszkencie / Polsha Respublikasining Toshkentdagi elchixonasi, which enabled us to establish valuable contacts and gain a better understanding of local conditions and educational needs in the region. We also met with business partners and representatives of Uzbek universities, opening up new perspectives for international cooperation. Special thanks for the productive meetings and discussions to EMU University University and Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea.

🌟 This trip allowed us to broaden our horizons and promote our university to international students. We were able to gain new insights into the world of education and make valuable contacts that can contribute to the development of our university.

🌍✈️ We're excited to share that our team recently participated in a week-long language course in Ireland (17-22.03.2024), organized as part of the Erasmus+ program by one of our partner institutions Atlantic Language School. The aim of the course was to enhance language proficiency, which is particularly crucial in the context of international academic cooperation where communication in a foreign language is key.

The course provided our employees with the opportunity to establish connections and build relationships with participants from different countries. This could lay the groundwork for future international collaboration, exchange of experiences, and research projects.

We're thrilled about the possibilities that this experience opens up and look forward to the potential collaborations it may foster in the future! 🇮🇪📚

Yesterday we celebrated the successful defenses of students in the English-language path of the Management program. Their hard work and dedication have yielded tangible results, marking an important milestone in their academic journey. The delegation from our University recently had the opportunity to participate in Carrousel - a program initiated by the Faculty of Business of Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Romania
The aim of the event was to bring together students from Romania, Poland and the Netherlands - Christelijke Hogeschool Ede - CHE. They had the opportunity to examine a number of companies in terms of their management model, sustainability and other business and HR aspects.
The students had the chance to visit the companies and interview their managers. On the basis of the data obtained, they prepared projects combining the reports and the action strategies they proposed for each of these companies.
Moreover, they were invited by the BBU to visit Turda Salt Mine and Issa Winery together. The students also had the opportunity to learn more about Romania's largest bank, Banca Transilvania, during a specially organised presentation.
We would like to thank our Partners for the invitation and we are looking forward to further succesful cooperation.

🇹🇷 At the end of October, we had the pleasure to meet with our partners from Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Üniversitesi in Turkey within the framework of administrative staff mobility. The trip was attended by the Dean for Student Affairs Sylwia Jurkowska and International Office Coordinator Magdalena Gaidzik.
During the meetings, we had the opportunity to discuss the perspectives for cooperation in the 2023/2024 academic year, and to disseminate knowledge on exchange program for students and academic and administrative staff. Thanks to our partner university's evolving infrastructure, we had the opportunity to visit their expanded campus and the new building designed for university authorities.

📚How to change the language on the virtual reading room page of the Katowice Business University? Check it out!

✈️🇫🇷On October 10 and 11 we were invited by our partner University IDRAC Business School - L'école supérieure de commerce in Lyon, France for Erasmus days. The program included meetings with university staff from many European countries and students from the partner university, during which it was possible to present our university's offer and establish cooperation with universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain and Germany.🇧🇦🇪🇸🇩🇪
On the second day, we took part in workshops with the staff of the International Office, we also discussed the strategies of our universities and planned the stages of further cooperation. Moreover, we had a tour of the old city and an evening tasting of French delicacies.

📅 Last week our University held an organizational meeting for students pursuing their course of study under the ERASMUS+ program.

The students came from several foreign partner universities, including: Spain, Turkey and France. The aim of the meeting was introducing KBU's teaching staff and the University's facilities to our new students.
The Dean for International Affairs, PhD Anna Sobczyk-Kolbuch, welcomed the students during the event.
Ms. Tetiana Shevchuk, the International Office representative, provided information about the Virtual University, the organization of classes and presented the process of legalization of stay. The students also had the opportunity to visit the University campus and learn about additional activities like participating in scientific workshops and sports competitions.

💬👉 In September, we had the pleasure of hosting employees of the Turkish partner university Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi, who carried out staff mobility within the framework of the Erasmus+ program at the Katowice Business University and took part in bachelor seminars together with students majoring in Tourism and Recreation. The classes were conducted by Anna Staszewska, PhD. The Polish-Turkish delegation became familiar with the tourist infrastructure of the region, visiting the Wellness and SPA resorts 🧖‍♀ in Goczałkowice Zdrój, Szczyrk, Wisła and Ustroń. They also visited the Silesian Museum, the Nikiszowiec district and Bogucice, as well as the Porcelain Factory.

And soon about the results of the exchange of experiences between academic staff, that is, the joint scientific publication 📖.

6th European Climate Change Adaptation - a conference taking place on 19th-21st June in Dublin 🌍. What is needed today is practical knowledge and action for a climate change resilient Europe. The event provides an opportunity to bring together experts, scientists, practitioners, local government representatives and businesses taking action on climate risk.
Among the leading themes of the conference:
🟩 intensifying climate action: support through climate platforms and services,
🟩 nature-based solutions for adaptation to climate change,
🟩 climate and social resilience of future energy infrastructure and systems.
PhD Anna Staszewska from the Department of Tourism, Katowice Business University, supervisor of the Scientific Society of Tourism and Recreation and European Climate Pact Ambassador will give a lecture on "Operational organisation and challenges of Climate Pact Ambassadors in the European Union".

Poland My First Choice NAWA – the call for applications is now open❗🔔

We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the Poland My First Choice NAWA programme, which enables young people to study at Polish universities with a scholarship 👇.

The programme offers the opportunity to undertake full-time, second-cycle studies with a monthly NAWA scholarship. In addition, the programme will make it possible to study for free at public universities.

The offer is addressed to candidates applying to Polish university-type higher education institutions supervised by the Minister of Education and Science (check which universities you can choose). Within the Programme interested persons can choose any course taught in Polish or English.
