The Arête project is a clothing brand founded by me and my dear friend Ania. It is my personal way of translating into graphic design language all the experiences, every mountain expedition and trips, early mornings, going uphill and good runs. Arête means the ridge of two peaks - it is a kind of metaphor for getting all the inspiration, knowledge and learning and translating it into the work of a graphic designer.

Prepared identification is geometric and organic. The colors used are subdued and unisex. We do not divide, but use same cuts intended for men and women.

The first collection was based on clothes such as t-shirts and sweatshirts with mountain elements. Pins and patches were inspired by everything we've experienced. The positive feedback of our clothes, peaks our motivation and make us do more and more!

identity. I designed another sign in the area of Tatra Mountains. If you happen to be in the beautiful village of Kościelisko near Zakopane, make sure to try out their new menu. They have vegan options as well ✨ I can’t wait!

Living at the edge of two great natural elements - sea and mountains - I know well how powerful and intimidating nature is.

Some lessons I have learn overtime as a graphic designer:

As a designer, I know how much value design brings to projects, organizations and big ideas. Maybe for the individuals outside this is not that clear. I, as a designer, try to design in a way my work has positive impact. It also means being part of strategic decisions from start to finish.

My work for Andrzej Zawada’s virtual museum was beyond general composition of photos and text. The experience of designing physical exhibitions turned out to be very helpful. Based on it, it was possible to create a data archiving system, modules according to which descriptions were created, and to predict the time planned for each "room". Thanks to this, it was possible to create a virtual museum to which you can plan a "trip" divided into chapters of the hero's life.

With that said, I hope it somehow encourage a deeper understanding value of design provides to any industry.

Good design. How it works?

Branding is a process. The process of building brand awareness among customers. It tells the world what the brand is from the inside.

When creating identity branding, you need to set a list of questions what the brand is, what its purpose is and what it strives for.

My approach is to create a universal set of functionalities, element design, colors, fonts and graphic elements. Branding is the result of all these activities. Coherent brand and product image.

The result is building a community around the brand, relationships through well-designed communication.

The process of creating and designing a sign involves activities from two spheres: communication and the simplicity of presenting the sign.

The logotype is a very common design language. We surround ourselves with signs from the very morning to evening, from everyday use products to those we see in our surroundings.

The logo may reflect the brand's offer. It can refer directly to shape, color. However, in the current situation, where there is high repeatability of products and wide competition, these signs can duplicate.

The logo should have the desired effect. First, it has to be liked. Be aesthetic, simple enough that you can recall the sign from memory. Stand out and meet the technical conditions of printing, use in production and materials.

The most important assumption, for me is that the sign selected by the client should be used in the long term for communication and brand identification. One that will become recognizable, but also harmonize well with the brand identity.

And remember that the logo itself is not an identification system. It is certainly the core, the heart of identity, but not a universal communication solution.

A multidimensional journey through the adventures of Polish climbers, known as the Ice Warriors. Andrzej Zawada's virtual museum created on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the first winter ascent to Mt. Everest. Website is implemented according to WCAG20 standards, for people with limitations - the ability to change the font size, page contrast, background colors.
