5 tips for Senior Business Analysts diving into a new domain 💻
For a BA, transitioning into a new domain can be challenging, but you can quickly become an expert with the right strategies. Here are 5 essential tips to help you build domain-specific confidence:
1️⃣ Learn about your client and company. Start with a deep dive into the "About us" and "What we do" sections on your client’s website. Understanding their mission, values, and services provides a solid foundation.
2️⃣ Use online resources for research. Leverage tools like ChatGPT to find blogs or websites of market leaders. These platforms often share valuable content that helps you get familiar with the latest terminology and trends.
3️⃣ Understand regulatory requirements. Investigate any regulations specific to the domain. Compliance is crucial, and being knowledgeable about these regulations will ensure your strategies align with industry standards.
4️⃣ Connect with domain experts. Schedule sessions with field experts or experienced BAs who have worked in the same domain. LinkedIn is a great platform to network and connect with these professionals.
5️⃣ Tap into your network. Talk to acquaintances working in similar fields. Their insights on business peculiarities and production nuances can provide you with a unique perspective that is not available in books.
By following these steps, you’ll add significant value to your projects in no time 🚀 Which domain did you find the most challenging to dive into?
Is it possible to speed up software engineering by digits? We say yes.
Inside Syberry, we are building DaVinci platform to make our engineering teams much more efficient. 20+ teams and clients already use the product.
The platform lets diverse Syberry teams behave like a single organism with coherent processes and access to the same data. A small example to illustrate this is daily planning, a feature every employee uses in the morning to plan their workload. The whole team can then see if someone is going to complete the task today, later during the week or month, or if they get blocked by someone else. Transparent task management helps the team quickly recognize if they fall short of their goals.
DaVinci lets us learn from teams’ mistakes and achievements, accumulating knowledge on the company level instead of within teams or specific people. For example, if a Resource Manager develops a better process for collecting feedback, she can share it with DaVinci to implement in the automated performance review process. In a matter of days, the whole company will use the new improved process.
Since 2019, we have built features and automated processes for almost every team and department at Syberry. For example, when a new project launches, DevOps Engineers use a partially automated infrastructure setup that lets them prepare the new infrastructure in hours instead of weeks.
Dozens of other features and processes make the work of recruiters, managers, marketing specialists, and engineers quicker and more efficient. DaVinci is built using Java 17, Spring Boot, React, MySQL 8, DynamoDB, Qldb, Hibernate, and AWS. The team itself works by industry best practices: weekly sprints, TDD, no manual QA, and striving to high/elite performance according to DORA metrics.
If you want to participate, we are hiring! Learn more and apply at https://www.syberry.com/careers/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=davinci_long_post
