Primera competición de Taekwon-Do Adaptado en América

El IX Campeonato Centro y Sudamericano que tuvo lugar en la ciudad de Asunción, Paraguay, entre el 24 y 30 de junio, fue el escenario en donde se llevó a cabo la primera competición de Taekwon-Do Adaptado ITF en el continente americano.

El camino recorrido para llegar a ese momento fue arduo y largo.

Desde su creación en 2019, el Comité de Inclusión de la ITF desarrolla Cursos oficiales (IAC), basados en la Guía para Instructores de Taekwon-Do Adaptado, con el fin de capacitar a Instructores de todo el mundo acerca de las principales características de diferentes condiciones y patologías, e instruir sobre la pedagogía y didáctica apropiadas para conducir clases dedicadas a personas con discapacidad.

We held IIC-JAPAN at Tokyo from June 29th to 30th, 2024.
The last time we held the event was in 2013. It is a great pleasure for us to be able to hold the event in Japan for the first time in 11 years.
We started preparations with GM Marano about a year ago, and during that time we received various advice, and the two-day IIC-JAPAN ended successfully and with great success.
First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Grand Master Marano, Grand Master Lan, and Grand Master Jedut for their cooperation with IIC-JAPAN.

Paraguay in the countdown to the start of the IX Central and South American Championship

In the run-up to such an important event, the numbers speak for themselves of success, at least as far as the number of attendees is concerned.

1,058 competitors, 41 teams, 234 coaches, and 80 umpires confirmed contributing to the next Central and South American Championship starting on June 24.

The Central and South American Confederation (FCST) is the supervisor of this ITF Taekwon-Do event and brings together National Associations from sixteen countries from Mexico to Argentina, which gives an idea of ​​the great geographical dimension it covers.

Culturally related, however, this region presents a rich ethnic diversity and maintains enormous differences in several other aspects, such as social and economic, which added to the work of the organizers, the President of the Paraguayan National Association Sbn Fernando Arrúa and the Masters Walter Peña and Ramón Rojas.

En la previa de tan importante evento, los números hablan por sí solos de un éxito, al menos en lo que a convocatoria se refiere.

1.058 competidores, 41 equipos, 234 coaches, 80 Umpires confirmados para el próximo Campeonato Centro y Sudamericano.

La Confederación Centro y Sudamericana es la fiscalizadora de este evento de Taekwon-Do ITF y nuclea a Asociaciones Nacionales de dieciséis países desde México hasta la Argentina, lo que permite tener una idea de la gran dimensión geográfica que abarca.

Un gran paso en el desarrollo del Taekwon-Do en Taiwán

La Asociación de Taipei Chino de la ITF colaboró ​​con Taekwon-Do ITF Vietnam este año para celebrar un Seminario Técnico sobre Biomecánica y Generación de Energía en Taekwon-Do, junto con una explicación más profunda de los secretos del entrenamiento. Además, el seminario también profundizó en el tema de la prevención de lesiones y el manejo de las mismas durante el entrenamiento.

Este seminario único se celebró por primera vez en Asia bajo la dirección del Maestro Mariusz Steckiewicz, miembro del Equipo de Desarrollo de la ITF en Asia. El evento fue presentado por el Sbn Carlos Machado, Instructor Jefe del Centro de Artes Marciales Hwa-Rang. Aunque el Taekwon-Do fue desarrollado científicamente, hay poco énfasis en el entrenamiento diario, por lo tanto el seminario fue un enfoque innovador al lado científico del Taekwon-Do.

A big step in the development of Taekwon-Do on Taiwan

International Taekwon-Do Federation Chinese Taipei Association collaborated with Taekwon-Do ITF Vietnam this year to hold a Taekwon-Do Technical Seminar on Biomechanics and Generation of Power in Taekwon-Do, along with deeper explanation on the training secrets. In addition, the seminar also delved into the topic of injury prevention and management of them during training.

This unique seminar had been held for the first time in Asia under the guidance of Master Mariusz Steckiewicz, member of the ITF Asia Development Team. The event was hosted by Sbn Carlos Machado, Head Instructor of Hwa-Rang Martial Arts Center. Although Taekwon-Do was developed scientifically, there is little emphasis on day-to-day training, therefore the seminar was an innovative approach to the scientific side of Taekwon-Do.

Great meeting of the Business and Marketing Committee. Topics discussed:

1. Launch of ITF Business and Development Course in collaboration with the Development and Communication Committee.
2. Further development of the ITF TKD App.
3- Software development support to the ITF National Association Committee.
4. Scheduling the planning of the ITF Broadcast Project to improve sponsorship.

India – a sleeping giant awakens
After modifying the plan for the development of the ITF in Asia, the “India” sub-project was finally able to start. Following a round trip, several cities were to be visited and seminars held in order to reach as many TKD students as possible and make personal contact with the responsible instructors. The primary aim was to achieve two objectives:
1. to advise and support the National Federation
2. to convince those interested to become members
