❓Is Pole dance a sin?

When you type something into Google in the search bar, it starts to help you and gives you different options. These options are based on what people are looking for.

Interestingly, in Poland, where I am, one of the searches is: pole dance is a sin?

Yeah, it's kind of a Catholic country here. But still, there are clubs that have kinky parties and you can easily find them online. In Belarus, where I come from, the police would definitely come to such a party. That's why everyone there is encrypted, you will never find the event on Facebook.

There are also nudist beaches in Poland. And you can google where they are.

At the same time, there are people who believe that dancing on the pylon is a sin.

The first to do different exercises on the pole were men. But where the idea that pole dancing is a sin came from, I'm very curious.

I think it has to do with women in general. Just like someone made up a bunch of years ago that women are a sin in and of themselves, it's still in society today. You don't have to say it out loud, it's not communicated through words, it's communicated on another level that we ourselves may not fully realise.

And I'm sorry that because of such stories, women themselves have a lot of internal limitations.

I want every woman to believe in herself and not let societal attitudes influence what she wants to do.

Have you ever wondered where pole dance originated? In fact, its roots run deep in history. One of the forerunners of modern pole dance is the Indian sport of mallakhamb, which has been practiced since the 12th century. Athletes performed complex acrobatic tricks on vertical wooden poles, demonstrating incredible strength and flexibility. 🇮🇳🤸‍♂️

Another interesting point in the history of pole dance is related to the Chinese circus, where performers included pole acts in their shows as early as the 12th century, amazing audiences with their agility and skill. Over time, pole dance has transformed into what we know and love today: a mix of acrobatics, dance, and fitness, offering not only beauty in movement but also health for the body. EN/PL Why pole dance jewellery?
I've always loved dance. I did ballet as a child. Then at university I learnt salsa and bachata. If I come to a disco, I spend almost all my time on the dance floor.

In May 2021 I moved from Minsk to Warsaw. I had to start everything from scratch. In Minsk I just started to create jewellery using laser cutting technology.

Already in Warsaw in autumn 2021 I met and we decided to create a collection of earrings in the theme of pole dance. But this time from metal. Metal can also be cut with a laser, but for this you need a completely different machine, more powerful. The laser does not cut, but melts metal.

I took different photos of girls and made 20 different files of future earrings. I also have two special jewellery drums in which the earrings are spun to become smooth.
The jewellery can then be sent off for gold plating.
I have posted the earrings on an American handicrafts website, among others. And I received my first order in May 2022.

I like long earrings and I like chains. This time I decided to combine the two and add some stones.
Look how it turned out.

How is a new collection of jewelry created?
Naturally, it all starts with an idea. This time, I had the idea to create a collection of black earrings called 'Black Mood,' but with a limited selection of materials and specific colors. The chosen colors were black and metallic. I selected the following materials: black matte acrylic glass, stainless steel fittings, and natural gemstones. These included black onyx in matte and glossy finishes, gray and petrol-colored hematite, and a synthetic stone that caught my eye with its interesting name, 'Night of Cairo.' It is a dark gray stone with sparkling inclusions. In future posts, I will share the earrings that I have created.

❓What should I do?
Yesterday, an idea came to my mind about what other jewelry I could make. Initially, I started creating pole dance earrings. However, I can see that I don't want to limit myself to just this area. Even if I were to make earrings inspired by any dance style, it still wouldn't be exactly what I want.
I want to create accessories for different festivals, raves. I want it to be something unique, expressing the hidden essence of its owner that is usually concealed beneath social obligations.

✋Today I want to tell you a little bit about myself and my jewelry. It's always interesting to find out who makes this jewelry, isn't it?

My name is Maria. My jewelry brand is called Amira Perun. Amira is a permutation of the letters of my name. Perun is the Slavic god of thunder and lightning.
I have been involved in various creative activities since childhood: drawing, crocheting, playing the domra and piano, playing in an orchestra, singing in a choir, beadwork, and writing stories.

🎉I made my very first earrings three years ago when I was just learning how to create files and cut them with a laser. But my first pole dance earrings appeared after moving from Belarus to Poland. It took me a couple of months to make my first plywood prototypes. It was really horrible.

🔥Laser cutting interested me in 2018 when I first found myself in a workshop with this machine. It was like magic to me: it was like a bright dot cutting through the material. I realized that I had to learn how to make it myself.

💃I model my earrings from photos of pole dancers. I have always loved dance. As a child I did a little bit of ballet, then at university, I was fond of salsa and bachata. And I like pole dance for its power and sexuality.
Besides earrings, I make bracelets and pendants. I also want to make body jewelry, clothes, and even perfume.

☝️At the moment, I use Instagram and Facebook to promote myself. I participate in Belarusian and Polish fairs in Warsaw. Also, you can buy my jewelry in three places in Warsaw: a flower salon, a manicure salon, and a Belarusian organization.

W grudniu brałem udział w 4 targach: dwóch polskich i dwóch białoruskich. Pomimo tego, że ludzie przychodzili i patrzyli, nie kupili ode mnie tylu wyrobów, ile chciałam.

Z jednej strony można przyjść, dotknąć kolczyków i przymierzyć je.

Z drugiej strony trzeba wygospodarować na to czas i wybrać się gdzieś w śnieżną lub deszczową pogodę.
A przecież tak wygodnie jest siedzieć pod kocem i za pomocą telefonu wybierać, zamawiać kolczyki i odbierać je w najbliższym paczkomacie.

Where would you like to be at this gray time of year?
I'll tell you where I'd like to be.
There's a festival called Burning Man. People build a city in the middle of a desert and live for a week. There is no money, there is only giving. Everyone gives something of themselves to others at that moment. Because everyone is involved in creating the festival, it's a mega event. It's where people try to reset social conditioning and show their uniqueness.
A community is born in each country, based on the same principles as the festival.
These principles are:
1. Everyone can be part of the community regardless of political views, age, physique, appearance, financial ability, language, or any other divisions.
2. There is no trade and no money involved, but there is the principle of giving and appreciation between participants.
3. There is no advertising.
4. Each participant must rely only on himself or herself for comfort and experience. But that doesn't mean you won't get help!
5. Explore yourself, try new outfits, and don't limit your choices.
6. Everything is done together by community members.
7. Civic responsibility. It's about the value of civil society and its laws.
8. Leave no trace. It is necessary to leave the place where we built, played, and changed as it was when we arrived.
9 Participation. You are not just a guest, you are a participant. Every role is important.
10. Here and now. Don't resist the magic of the place, stop and try to catch this "here and now". And let it be what it is supposed to be!

The initiators are those who have been to the desert themselves at Burning Man.
And sometimes people organize local events with a similar theme.

This is the kind of event I want to participate in.
Let it be an event small in number, but warm and luminous. Where everyone is filled with the excitement of sharing what they know and can do, meeting new people, and feeling involved in creating a communal atmosphere of giving.
It sounds like a fairy tale, but maybe that's what we're missing right now.

Where do I cut my jewelry?

I am used to working on a laser with good software. In Minsk, I could connect to the laser via Wi-Fi. I could start or stop the laser from the keyboard of my laptop. But the laser doesn't always have a good controller that allows that.

I was looking for a place where I could cut to order. I end up going to Fablab now. There are two lasers there. One big one, similar to the one in Minsk. And a smaller one, from the Polish company Trotec. And I was very much surprised by some strange software on this laser.

The laser has a useful feature called Frame. Before cutting, the laser goes around the perimeter of what it is going to cut. That is, it makes a rectangle. Very handy when there is leftover material. And this new Trotec laser has no such function. That's a very big disadvantage for me. Also, it doesn't have the usual settings for speed and laser power. You can set a percentage of its power. And this principle is also not clear to me. So I periodically call a Fablab volunteer to help me cut new material. He helps me to create the settings for this laser and next time I can cut what I want. The good thing about this laser is that it has a high cutting speed.

If I have a lot of things to cut, I always make it to order. It's faster that way.

Metal, on the other hand, is cut with another laser. I've been looking for a laser and almost all the places in Warsaw have turned me down. They said that my jewelry is too small and when they cut it, everything will fall and they won't find anything. I wondered what was going on under their laser workbench?

Let's get acquainted. My name is Maria. My universe is sexuality, technology, and psychology. I am attracted to the female body, it has always been interesting to understand why so many prejudices exist around women. Why does society have a strange attitude if a woman does something other than children and cooking?
I'm interested in dealing with technology. I wrote a computer game, built a drone with 6 motors from a YouTube video, and learned how to print on a 3D printer, weld metal, and cut with a laser. I don't like it when women are treated condescendingly and are surprised if they can do any of the "typical male" activities. I have two sons, and I teach them that there are no male and female activities. There is equipment: a welder, a laser, a sewing machine, a washing machine, etc. - and this equipment can be used by anyone.

I am interested in getting to know myself, in learning more about my psychological traits. Just knowledge is good. But even cooler is putting it into practice. I try to treat every person I meet as a mentor from whom I can learn something.

I now live in Warsaw and develop my Amira Perun brand. Amira is a permutation of the letters of my name. Perun is the Slavic god of thunder and lightning. I wanted the name to have something to do with Belarus. I associate lightning with laser beams and welding.

I moved to Warsaw with my family from Minsk. I never thought that I would have to leave my home country because of the threat of being imprisoned and that I would be a refugee. All I did was be an observer at the presidential election and participate in the marches in Minsk. I continue to give some of my time to the different actions of the Belarusians. I also created the CraftHandLab artisan community, organized fairs, and opened an online store with handmade products.

I thought it was easy to create my brand. I took a course by .che.style and realized that I needed to figure out myself, and find my desires, and my identity, to create cool things. Anyone can cut with a laser. But not everyone can create something that will touch the heart. And that's exactly the kind of jewelry and accessories I want to create.

Why did I choose laser cutting?
I tried printing on a 3D printer. But for me, I have to wait too long for the final result.

I've tried welding metal and teaching others to do it. But since I moved from Minsk to Warsaw, I've lost access to the workshop and it wasn't easy to find a new one here.

And only with the help of laser cutting I can see how a new product is born in front of my eyes. It takes more time to prepare the file than the cutting itself.
I like to create new products with the laser and also talk about how to learn how to cut with the laser.

Black pole dance earrings.
They are made of black plexiglass.
Plexiglas comes in many different colors, but the most common is transparent. It is used, for example, for portholes in airplanes.
Plexiglas is also used for costume jewelry.
Colored plexiglass is usually 3 mm thick. Although clear plexiglass can be thinner.
I experimented with different colors and I liked black the best.

How to make stainless steel costume jewelry?
There are two ways to work with steel. The first is to create costume jewelry by punching. When a press is lowered onto a flat sheet of material and
cut the elements of earrings or bracelets out of the material. So you can make a lot of
elements at one time.
And the second option is laser cutting. Here already you can create really one-of-a-kind things.
First, vector files are created. They are loaded into the laser cutting machine. After setting the laser beam parameters the cutting starts.
The cut elements can have rough edges. Therefore, grinding is required.
For this purpose, special drums are used, in which the cut earrings are rotated for dozens of hours.
After such processing, they become smooth and almost mirror-like.
At this point, the processing can be completed. Or you can leave them to be coated with gold.
This is not a quick way for earrings to go before they appear in your ears.

Istnieją dwa sposoby pracy ze stalą. Pierwszym z nich jest tworzenie biżuterii poprzez wykrawanie. Gdy prasa jest opuszczana na płaski arkusz materiału
i wykrojnik wycina z materiału elementy kolczyków lub bransoletek. Więc możesz zrobić
dużo elementów w krótkim czasie.
Drugą opcją jest cięcie laserowe. To właśnie tutaj można naprawdę stworzyć unikatowe egzemplarze.

What do you know about stainless steel other than that it doesn't rust? Nowadays it created alloys of iron with different other metals to get new properties.
It can be chromium, nickel, titanium, tungsten, manganese, copper, or molybdenum.
But the main additive is chromium. At least 10.5%.
It is thanks to it that iron does not rust. In the presence of oxygen, chromium oxide is formed, which creates a film that protects the entire product.
Originally, stainless steel was used in the food industry and then began to be used in other industries.
And even in surgery.
This material is hypoallergenic and very easy to disinfect.
Surgical steel contains chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. These elements provide resistance to rust, tarnishing, oxidation, and wear.
And now steel is actively used to create jewelry, including mine.

Czym jest wysokiej jakości biżuteria kostiumowa?
Znana jest nam biżuteria kostiumowa wykonana ze srebra lub złota. Wiemy, że są one trwałe.
Co wiesz o stali nierdzewnej, poza tym, że nie rdzewieje? Obecnie tworzy się stopy żelaza z różnymi innymi metalami, aby uzyskać nowe właściwości.
Może to być chrom, nikiel, tytan, wolfram, mangan, miedź lub molibden.
Jednak głównym dodatkiem jest chrom. Co najmniej 10,5%.
To właśnie dzięki niemu żelazo nie rdzewieje. W obecności tlenu powstaje tlenek chromu, który tworzy powłokę chroniącą cały produkt.
Stal nierdzewna pierwotnie była wykorzystywana w przemyśle spożywczym, a później znalazła zastosowanie również w innych branżach.
Używa się jej nawet w chirurgii.
Materiał jest hipoalergiczny i bardzo łatwy do dezynfekcji.
Stal chirurgiczna zawiera chrom, nikiel i molibden. Elementy te zapewniają odporność na rdzę, matowienie, utlenianie i zużycie.
A obecnie stal jest aktywnie wykorzystywana do tworzenia biżuterii, w tym mojej.
