✨ Remember about it before signing the lease.

✅ Check an acceptance protocol, where your landlord will note a detailed description of the current state of the property. This is a crucial document that protects both you and the landlord.

📋 Check and note any defects and shortcomings. This will help you avoid misunderstandings and disputes in the future.

🔎 Check installations, appliances, windows, doors, floors - every element is essential. Is everything working smoothly? Are there any visible damages? If so - note the landlord and make sure it's written in the protocol.

💼 Make sure that your lease acts in accordance with the law. It should protect the rights of both tenants and landlords.

📜 The acceptance protocol is your safeguard. In case of any disputes, it will serve as evidence of a fair assessment of the apartment's condition.

Renting is an important decision, so it's worth doing everything to ensure a smooth process. Remember the acceptance protocol and thorough inspection of the apartment.

🌍 Moving to Poland or here for a student exchange? Let's talk about one crucial aspect of renting – the security deposit.

🔐 Understanding Deposits
The security deposit, known as "kaucja" in Polish, plays a vital role in renting a place. But how does it work, and how can you get it back? Here are some key insights.

📜 Storage Rules
The landlord is obligated to keep the deposit in a designated bank account, separate from their personal finances. This ensures the safety and transparency of the funds.

🔍 Amount Compliance
Remember, the deposit should align with the amount specified in the lease agreement. It cannot exceed the equivalent of one month's rent.

If you have any questions about deposits or other aspects of property rental, we're here to help! 🤝

💡 Pro Tip: For a smooth experience, ensure your deposit is correctly handled. If you need guidance on deposits or any other rental-related concerns, feel free to reach out. ➡️ littlehome.pl/littlehome-consultation-online/

1️⃣ Rent - is the basic cost you will be paying for using the apartment.

3️⃣ Utilities - include electricity, gas, water, and other utilities. They can be included in the rent or paid separately. 🚿

4️⃣ Internet and TV - if you want to use these services, remember to account for the costs.

5️⃣ Heating - in some cases, the cost of heating may be additionally charged.

6️⃣ Parking Fee - if you need a parking space, make sure you know how much it costs.

7️⃣ Property Management Fee - if you are using property management services, there may be a fee for their services.

8️⃣ Apartment Insurance - it's worth securing yourself against unforeseen circumstances – ask your landlord about it.

9️⃣ Additional Costs - depending on the rental agreement, there may be other additional fees, for example, for cleaning, maintenance, or refurbishment of the apartment.

It's essential to be fully aware of all the costs associated with renting, to properly plan your budget and avoid unpleasant surprises. 🔥If you have any questions regarding renting an apartment or are looking for the perfect property for rent. 🏠

➡ Once you choose the perfect place to live, make an appointment at the flat with the landlord to sign a contract. 📑 This will still give you the opportunity to see the conditions of the flat in detail and make sure it’s the right place for you. If something doesn’t feel right, you can still cancel, move to a hotel for a few days and thus give yourself time to find a new place. 👇

Before signing the contract, take photos of the water, electricity and gas meters and the whole flat (including especially the condition of the kitchen, bathroom, walls and floors). 🎥📸 Such material will protect you in case the landlord makes problems with returning the deposit at the end of the rent. 💸
Arrange to pay the rent and the deposit by bank transfer – that way, there will be no doubts about payment. ✅

Whether you're planning a business trip, studying, or considering long-term residency, here are some key tips to guide you through the process. 👉

If you are planning on moving to Poland, here we are! Sharing some insights on renting a flat here - it's not just about finding the perfect place! 🏡

👉 Landlords might ask for your passport, visa, or residence card, depending on your situation. Be ready to share your work details and planned stay duration.

👉 There are two types of agreements - the traditional one (just between you and the landlord) and the short-term one (needs a notary visit). The short-term deal might be suggested to you, especially if you're a foreigner. 🌍

👉 Make sure to read the contract thoroughly. If it's only in Polish, ask for an English version or use translation tools like Google Translate or DeepL. There is no obligation for contracts in Poland to be translated into other languages

👉 If you're booking remotely, a deposit may be required. Ask for a signed flat reservation contract ( (Polish: umowa rezerwacyjna) to ensure a smooth arrival and avoid any surprises.
📝 Keep in mind, if you cancel, the deposit might not come back to you.
