We’re thrilled to welcome you to the official profile of Saule Technologies. We are a fast-growing tech company that’s transforming the future of energy. Our mission is to create innovative perovskite solar cells, ☀️ which are the key to sustainable and eco-friendly energy for everyone. 🌿

Our founder, Olga Malinkiewicz, is a true visionary whose passion for science and technology has brought us to where we are today.
She graduated from the Technical University of Catalonia in 2010 (MSc Photonics). In 2017 she obtained her PhD from the Institute of Molecular Science, the University of Valencia in 2017 in the group of Dr. Henk Bolink, with a thesis on low cost, efficient hybrid solar cells.
For her science achievements, she won the prestigious Photonics21 Student Innovation Award and, as the first Pole, she won the Innovators Under 35 ranking, organized by MIT Technology Review. In July 2024, Olga Maliniewicz and her team won a double award: the European Inventor Award 2024 in the SMEs category and the public’s choice Popular Prize.

Dr Malinkiewicz and her team are the finalists in the ‘SMEs’ category in recognition of their technology and outstanding efforts towards a sustainable future ♻️ They were selected by an independent jury from over 550 candidates for this year’s edition 🏆

The European by the European Patent Office honors the brightest minds whose creativity drives progress. Since its launch in 2006, this prestigious award has spotlighted inventors who turn bold ideas into real-world advancements.

What a day! 💥 Mrs Katarzyna Piquette, the Deputy Minister at the YourAlberta (Government of Alberta), and Mrs Heather Carmichael, the Executive Director of Sustainability, Emissions Reduction and Innovation Secretariat at the Government of Alberta, visited the premises of our perovskite photovoltaics factory in Wroclaw today ☀️

We had an absolute blast meeting our guests and discussing the importance of clean, ♻️ More and more entities notice the immense potential our flexible solar cells create for the industry, and feel honoured that our guests found time to visit Saule during such a busy trip. It is always a pleasure to connect with like-minded, environmentally-conscious professionals exploring solutions for a better tomorrow 🤝 Here is to the greener, sustainable future! 🌎

WPT - Wrocławski Park Technologiczny

We had the great pleasure of hosting important guests at our premises recently - the delegation from Taiwan visited Saule to learn more about the possibilities offered by our solution (thin and flexible solar cells allowing for generating energy from sunlight and artificial light) and to explore potential business opportunities.

The group was led by Dr. Ing. Kou-I Szu, the President of HIWIN MIKROSYSTEM and the Chairman of TAIROA (Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association), and Ho Hsiang-Wei, the Section Chief of the Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and consisted of the representatives of significant Taiwanese tech entities and companies ⚙️

Hosting such a splendid assembly of professionals was an honour to us. Taiwan is known for its excellence and hi-tech quality - no wonder that part of our production line machinery comes from Taiwan ✅

Many thanks to Ewa Boba from AIUT for facilitating the visit and to Jan Rogowski from Polska Agencja Inwestycji i Handlu - PAIH (Polish Investment and Trade Agency) for the support during the meeting. We are looking forward to future collaborations between Saule Technologies and Taiwan! 🇵🇱🤝🇹🇼

🎉 Exciting Milestone Alert! 🎉 We are absolutely thrilled to finally share this amazing news with all of you! 🌟 Recently, our Team at Saule has received the most incredible validation for our perovskite photovoltaic modules for consumer products.

We are proud to announce that TÜV Rheinland Solar GmbH has declared that our modules meet all the criteria for the prestigious IEC certification! 🏆 This is a major milestone for us and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire Team 🤝 You can find the certificate here: https://tiny.pl/c8dwg

The tests were conducted according to the IEC TS 63163 Category 1 for Terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules for consumer products. This means that our modules have been thoroughly evaluated and have passed with flying colours! ✔️

Exciting news! 🚀 Saule Technologies is set to make history by testing and monitoring flexible perovskite solar cells in outer space for the first time. This groundbreaking achievement is made possible through a strong collaboration with SatRev, of Rome "Tor Vergata" and Astronika.

In just a few days, a Polish satellite (AMAN-1) developed by SatRevolution will be launched into Low Earth Orbit as part of the SpaceX Transporter-9 mission. The payload is equipped with 28 solar cells with various architectures and compositions developed by Saule Technologies.

This mission aims to assess the performance of the devices in harsh space conditions. It will open up new possibilities for ultra-light and cost-effective energy solutions for the space industry. The monitoring of the perovskite cells during the mission will provide valuable data on their performance in real time. Measurements of current-voltage, sunlight intensity, and temperature will be transmitted to ground stations, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of their functionality in the space environment.

Saule Technologies, as a pioneer in perovskite technology, is excited about the potential of their cells in space applications. This mission marks a significant step forward in their journey to revolutionize the solar energy industry. 🚀🛰️🌌

Our talented PhD students Felipe and Wiktor have done an absolutely phenomenal job in developing the first-of-its-kind lead-free tin halide perovskite flexible modules, with a record Power Conversion Efficiency! 🙌🔬

This research is not just important; it's a big leap beyond any previous work on tin perovskite. These eco-friendly modules were made using scalable, industrial methods on the record module area! 🌱♻️

Our Team constantly increases its competencies and engages in knowledge exchange ✅ Earlier this year three of our scientists completed short research stays as a part of the VIPERLAB - an international project that aims to accelerate the development of perovskite solar technology in Europe.

➡️ VIPERLAB is fostering collaborations between academia and industry as well as facilitating and coordinating access to the best EU-based perovskite research infrastructures.

David and Cristina visited the SPECIFIC Innovation and Knowledge Centre and Vivek visited the CHOSE Centre for Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy.

👨‍🔬 Dr David Forgacs, the Director of Knowledge Management at Saule Technologies, reflected on the experience: “We are very fond of participation in the VIPERLAB platform. Great infrastructure and a chance to try new equipment have been of great value, same as the opportunity to network and exchange know-how with fellow colleagues from the perovskite photovoltaics field.
Personally, having had such a marvellous time, I can without a doubt recommend participation in VIPERLAB to others.”

The consortium, gathering 15 partners from 9 countries, received funding under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme 🇪🇺

What if, one day, making new solar modules could be as easy as printing a newspaper?

Saule Technologies and Saule Research Institute have joined forces with an incredible international research team for the SuPerTandem project. It will accelerate the European transition to clean energy by providing its solar energy market with a perovskite solar panel which is much more affordable, better performing, made at a lower cost, and environment-friendly 🔅

This being said, the SuPerTandem team will be developing an innovative, scalable, low CO2 footprint photovoltaic technology for highly efficient two-terminal tandem cells and modules based on complementary metal-halide perovskite absorbers ✅

The project is being led by TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research). The consortium, consisting of 15 partners, creates an ideal combination of Research and Technology Organisations, Universities and SMEs 🤝 Get ready to revolutionize the way we harness solar power!

What a visit! 💥 We are thrilled to share that ESA - European Space Agency and Polska Agencja Kosmiczna paid a visit to our factory to learn more about our innovative technology of inkjet-printed perovskite photovoltaics and the opportunities flexible perovskite PV cells create for the space industry 🛰️ Many thanks to and for coming! It was great having you 🚀

It is our pleasure to announce that Saule Technologies became a member of Platform-ZERO - a new project co-funded by the European Commission (European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) 🇪🇺). Platform-ZERO aims to reach zero-defect manufacturing and substantially reduce production costs in the photovoltaic industry by the integration of in-line process monitoring, advanced sensors and artificial intelligence in the production process.

Participation in this project is a great opportunity for Saule Technologies as in-depth insight obtained via the above will allow us to spot potential areas of improvement at the early stage of production and thus develop our products more efficiently ✔️

We are proud to emphasize that we are one of the very few entities that were chosen to test these solutions. While four different photovoltaics industrial pilot plants throughout Europe have been chosen as demo-sites, we are the only company operating in the perovskite photovoltaics field.

➡️ Being the first perovskite photovoltaics entity in Europe and in the world to partake in such an innovative project is a great commendation for Saule Technologies and we are looking forward to the outcomes of this collaboration.
