The win comes when you shift your perspective to future thinking and place more weight on your trajectory than your current outcome.
”I've been super invested in my daily habits, which has really helped with my personal development.
I found things that fill my time on a daily basis and allow me to show up as my best self. Working out, reading, journaling, and gratitude are some things that I practice on a regular basis.
Much of the development in my personal growth has also come from this role, though. Everyone in my peer group is so invested in becoming a better version of themselves and it inspires me. Broke?
Well, we hate to deliver bad news, but at least on some level...
It’s your fault.
Your decision-making, financial education, and relationship with money play huge roles in your financial success. If you want to stop being broke, you’ve gotta change your mindset and behaviors.
How? Start here...
✅️ Develop market-valued skills: The market pays for rare and profitable skills. Upskill to match market demands.
✅️Ditch the scarcity mindset: Money is abundant. Believe there’s money out there for you.
✅️Invest in financial education: Read, listen, and learn about money. Knowledge is power.
✅️Manage emotions: Smart financial decisions require emotional intelligence. Delay gratification and manage risks wisely.
✅️Feel the pain of inaction: If you’re okay with being broke, nothing will change. Let the discomfort drive you to act.
Don’t settle for a broke mindset. Read a book, brainstorm business ideas, consider a career switch (sales, anyone?), or track your expenses. Do something—anything—to get started.

If you're reading this it's likely you're asking yourself, "what's it like to interview at Vector Marketing?". Or maybe even, "what's it like to work at Vector Marketing / Cutco?".
I mean, it sounds awesome to work from home, but what exactly does this position require?
Look at you asking intelligent questions.
First thing, congrats for doing research. We advise everyone to do their due diligence before checking out any work opportunity.
Know this. There comes a point in time where you have to listen to a few people's perspective, but you also have to ask yourself how credible their story is.
Did this person give it their best? Or did they make assumptions before giving it a shot?
That's for you to answer as you scour Google and YouTube, typing out "what's it like to work at Vector Marketing?" in all the places.
Something to consider. Selling Cutco is different. It's challenging, yet rewarding. It forces you to step out of your comfort zone - to develop skills that maybe you've never used before. Skills that many successful alumni say helped them take that next step in life.
Andrew Bosworth, VP of augmented reality at FB (Meta) sold Cutco for two summers while in college at Harvard - right before joining Zuckerberg's startup, "Facebook".
We could list example after example but would that help you make the decision of, "is selling Cutco for me?"
The answer = likely not. The only way to know is to give it a try.
You'll never know until you do.
And if you do try, will you give it your absolute best? Bringing your best is something you can apply in every area of life to stand out.
School. Sports. Or, yes even summer break work.
After all, if you're going to try something, why would you give anything less than your best? Can you even say you tried if you gave something half effort?
Not if you want to be the best. Or say that you gave something a fair shot.
Big shoutout to former Cutco sales rep, Ickey Ekwonu, for being the #6 overall draft pick in this years NFL draft!

Entrepreneurship is a tough gig. But you’re capable of making your own success.
Lots of people have been right where you are and faced many of the same challenges.
But they never gave up. So neither should you.
Advice for building a successful business: https://bit.ly/vds_FBThinkInDecades
“Growing up, I always saw myself as average, at best, in most areas of my life - sports, friends, school.
My goal was to work hard in college and get a good job in something business related, but had no idea specifically what that job would be, so I kept an open mind.
Then I got a friendly text about working with Vector and decided to ‘try it out’ so that I could improve my people and business skills, as well as boost my resume.

I really leaned into what the experience had to offer by running interviews my first summer (which taught me professionalism). I learned work ethic by grinding through some 12-13 hour days. Coaching and learning how to inspire individuals on a team to build a culture that I was proud of. This taught me the power of influence.
Growing up I thought our life potential was based on the resources we had growing up- but that’s not true. Vector teaches that we can create our own resources & learn from others who are further along the learning curve in the beautiful game of life!

The work environment that Vector Marketing promotes may seem a little too good to be true. And if you’ve been burned by false promises before, there’s plenty of reason to be skeptical of a position that pays well and doesn’t require prior work experience.
Before you decide whether you’d like to give it a try, you have two choices: listen to people who haven’t done the job, or listen to people who have.
Our sales rep Delaina, for example, HAS tried working with Vector Marketing. As a full-time student, she found that the high flexibility was the perfect way to earn some money around her busy class schedule.

If you’re watching this video, there’s a good chance that the only thing standing in the way between you and your Vector Marketing interview is one word: sales.
Everyone has their own idea of the stereotypical salesperson, but sleazy practices, constant cold calling, and an overly competitive work environment probably come to mind for many of us.
This generalized conception of “sales” scares away a lot of people from coming to work with Vector Marketing. In fact, many of our best sales reps were skeptical about the company before going to an interview. Luckily, they decided to take a risk, and they found that the experience was nothing like what they imagined.
If you’re interested in trying out sales in a low pressure, fun environment, schedule an interview with us to learn more about the opportunity. Chances are, the idea of sales will sound a whole lot more inviting.

College is not what I expected it to be. It came in peaks and valleys, at times it felt the valleys were longer than the peaks. I struggled, but nevertheless I pushed through.
I don’t think I could have completed college at the level I did without the Cutco Thru College Program. I originally went to school to be a therapist, but when I saw what Cutco could offer, I realized I was able to to exactly what I wanted by selling knives.
I knew that with the opportunity I had leaning into it hard was the only way for me. I decided to make that mental switch to give it everything I had. I made more money, got more experience, made people’s lives easier and felt more fulfilled when I committed to the bit.
It’s one of the reasons I was never a broke college student. I didn’t have to worry about not being able to afford textbooks, supplies, food, or fun activities.
The program is also how I’ve gotten to be so good at networking outside of a college setting. I have a lot more experiences to talk about when building rapport with professors or potential business partners.
Looking back, I also excelled in so many of my classes because of the work I did. Any business communication or public speaking class I had I didn’t get less than a 98 overall grade.
Human factors and psychology were extremely easy because those are most of the things you learn about as an assistant manager, and even more so if you went the path of a branch manager.
Sure, I had a few people make fun of me, but at the end of the day most people were more curious than anything else and were impressed with what I was able to accomplish.
I feel much more ready to take on the real world than most of my peers as well as actionable plans for my future that don’t depend on hypotheticals.” - Jett Williams, Cutco Sales Professional (Richmond, VA)

If you’re confused about how Vector Marketing’s pay works, you’re not alone. Although it is somewhat untraditional compared to your typical summer job, fortunately, it’s not too complicated.
When most people see something like “$18/__,” they automatically assume it means “$18/hour.” But the way our representatives are paid works a little differently.
By the end of this video, you should know all the basics of Vector’s “per appointment” pay system.
Take it from one of our representatives, Devon Romero, who was curious how the pay worked before starting. He has some friends who tried out other sales jobs, where they took issue with how those companies conducted business. Devon went into the interview and found that he liked Vector’s way of doing things, which led to him sticking around and finding success.
If you have any more questions about the pay, such as how commission works, why not give an interview a try? You and your wallet might be glad you did.

Ever find yourself scared to try new things? Good news is you’re not alone. What if there was a way to turn that fear into a strength? Here’s some perspective …
“Before I started working at Cutco I wasn’t too confident with my interpersonal skills. There was always that deep down feeling of nervousness that washed over me whenever I would have to meet someone new. This ended up resulting in unneeded amounts of stress.
Vector has taught me great life habits to conquer those stressful moments. It was amazing to see how some of my weaknesses turned into my core strengths.
Now I am gradually taking bigger steps to get outside of my comfort zone. Some choices are going to be scary to do, but the feeling of accomplishment afterwards makes it worth it every time.
Most of the time when I am stepping into a new challenge, I usually ask myself “what is it that is holding me back or what am I most afraid of?” Almost every time it is simply the idea of not being good or failing at it. Once I have that answer it motivates me because I know that I lose 100% of the challenges that I don’t try.
Don’t run from scary opportunities that come your way, rather embrace them and know this is when you experience growth. No matter how small it may be just start somewhere.
I have seen how these lessons have impacted all areas in my life outside of work. When it comes to stepping out of my comfort zone, I have much more confidence in my communication skills which has led to me meeting lots of great people and forming better relationships with those around me.” - Brandon Goble, Branch Manager (South Bend, IND)
How often do you revisit your goals? Chances are, they’ve changed over time, whether just by a little bit or drastically.
They aren’t meant to be set in stone; your goals should be fluid and will change depending on where your journey takes you.
Gaining a better understanding of the ways your goals have changed can help you grow and adapt to life’s ever changing circumstances.

When you see that Vector Marketing offers flexible schedules, you might initially be a bit skeptical; and rightfully so! While many part-time jobs claim to offer total flexibility, there aren’t many that are truly “work when you want.”
Fortunately, Vector Marketing is one of the select few.
At Vector, our biggest hope for our sales representatives is that they get as much out of the experience as they want to. Whether someone is trying to work full-time or squeeze in a couple of appointments each week, they will receive total support and guidance from our team.
One of our representatives, Lauren, is a full-time teacher. During her time off in the summers, she works hard with Vector to make solid income. Then when school starts up again, she has the freedom to dial back her hours and do a little work with us on the side.
As a college student, Gabe finds the flexibility especially convenient. When he doesn’t have anything to do between classes, he puts in a few hours of work and makes some money.
These are just two out of thousands of representatives who have used Vector Marketing’s flexibility to work with their own unique schedules.
Whatever you have going on right now, think about how YOU could benefit from some professional experience and extra cash. We’d love to help you reach your goals at your own pace :)

And when you falter, every single one of them would be willing to give their tips, time and advice to help you get back on track and guarantee you hit your goals.
~
You can make the harder choices because you know everyone standing behind you is backing you.
~
And when it comes to building your business and deciding to work hard and invest in yourself with a massive support system behind you…it makes the roller coaster ride a lot smoother.
~
Every inch of growth has been handed to me on a silver platter by the people around me who want what I want and teach me how to get there.

I knew if I applied those things I’d get everything I ever wanted.” -Faith Perkins-Juarez, Cutco Sales Professional (Salt Lake City, UT)
High school friends are often out of proximity. You’re in the same class. The same sports team. The same club.
After school, it’s more of a choice. It’s about shared values. Life trajectory.
We’re not here to tell you the right and wrong type of person. But we can tell you, who you choose to associate with can drastically influence the person you become.
“I was raised by great parents who were always about growth and becoming better, but Vector is where I really got exposed for the first time to the direct reflection personal growth could have on your income and life.
I have had multiple mentors, and coaches inside and outside of the business that have accelerated my progress in all the areas of my life important to me.
The first book my manager had me read was “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and it forever changed my perspective. Since then, I’ve chugged personal growth like water out of a firehose.
One takeaway I learned from the book was to really listen to people and be intentional about using and remembering their names. It may seem like a small thing, but it shows they’re valued and important enough to put that initial effort into.
And it works - In sales and life if we intentionally go to serve and put others first and their needs first, the rest typically takes care of itself.
I’m very thankful for the hunger and fire my manager lit in me to pursue and maintain a growth focus for all the challenges that life presents. I started being conscious of becoming the best version of myself and my capacity for what I’m capable of.” - Marisa Maher, Cutco Sales Professional (Edmond, OK)

If you’ve never heard of Vector Marketing, you’re probably pretty surprised to have received a text from us out of the blue saying you've been recommended. Maybe you were recommended for the job by a good friend… or maybe the referral came from a classmate you haven’t talked to much in the past few years.
Either way, you may be confused as to why you were recommended, or why Vector Marketing doesn’t just find people on Indeed or LinkedIn like most other jobs.
We have found that a vote of confidence from someone who has been successful in working with us is worth much more than anything on a resume. In other words, we trust our people to recommend other motivated, hard-working individuals.
Take Leah Friz, for instance. After her friend told his manager that he thought Leah would be a good fit, she interviewed, went through the training, and got off to a great start. That is why we hire through referrals.
Now, it is up to you to decide what you’ll do with that text from Vector Marketing. Just know that YOU received it for a reason.

You probably know what you’re good at, but how often do consider working on those areas you’re not as strong in?
So often, we tend to focus so much on using our strengths to our advantage that our shortcomings get overlooked.

When you decide to do something different, not everyone will support you. And that’s ok.
The first step is understanding that, but not letting it get in your way.
The next step is finding your tribe - those who celebrate your wins & encourage you to turn your failures into lessons.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

You don’t have to do it all on your own, however. Ambition won’t take you anywhere without the proper guidance. It’s important to let yourself be guided by people who already pursued and achieved some of their ambitions.
Your leader’s mentoring and his/her own experiences will help you set realistic expectations about what you want to achieve and the amount of work you’ll have to do to obtain it.
