The raw materials, such as cork, are conquering more and more the status of nobility and admiration of an increasing number of consumers worldwide.

Portugal is a privileged country with 736 thousand hectares of oak forest “montado”, a large dark-green patch in the map which places us among the world’s 7 great producers of cork: Portugal, Spain, Algeria, Morocco, France, Tunisia and Italy.

Beyond the Tagus river, reigns the Mediterranean cork oak, Quercus Suber, from where Portugal extracts every year about 190 thousand tons of harvest cork, which corresponds to 50% of the world’s production. The cork oak is a tree that needs to be nurtured and loved by successive generations. Only after 25 years, its productive life begins when the tree trunk reaches a circumference of 70 cm and the nine-year cycle of growth and harvest can be initiated, and it may last for more than 150 years.

Manuela Graça and Paola Graça’s passion for cork translated in to the development of a special collection – ARTELUSA – to national and foreign clients. Through partnerships with small specialized industries and a lot of imagination they have been creating a diverse range of products from office supplies to fashion, including elegant bags and purses, belts and even an unusual and stunning umbrella!

All products are handmade from a premium natural cork fabric.

If the product is out of stock, the delivery time may be longer, depending on supplier availability.

Conserveira de Lisboa

Conserveira de Lisboa was first known as Mercearia do Minho and was established in 1930. Since then, the core business was canned food because one of its founders, Fernando da Silva Ferreira, was a retailer of this product. He started his activity as an employee and saved enough to purchase 1/3 of the company.

In 1942 Conserveira de Lisboa was consolidate as the official name after being through some different partnerships, even though Fernando da Silva was always a main partner in the company. During the 60s/70s the company achieved success by owning two big warehouses. This was a time when there was a lot of demand for canned food in Portugal.

TRICANA is a registered brand of Conserveira de Lisboa since 1942. TRICANA offers a range of big fishes, with a full maturation and it's known by its one piece filets mannually placed inside each can.

Lemon Fresh Olive Oil Organic/Demeter 250mL

The fresh flavour of lemon is added to this olive oil at the oil mill where the olives and lemons are processed together. Recommended for use with fish, salads, pasta and baking or simply as a dip.

Olival da Risca

Located in the southeast of Portugal, between the Spanish border and the river Guadiana, there is an area well known for the cultivation of olives. It offers optimal conditions for the organic production of Risca Grande's fruits and our olives. The extensive olive grove extends over 105 out of a total of 130 hectares of land. Risca Grande totals 20 000 olive trees that are between 5 and 500 years old. The entire property is managed according to the guidelines of biodynamic cultivation.

The Olival da Risca olive oils are all ‘extra virgin’ oils – top class organic olive oils of Demeter quality. As untreated natural products of the highest quality, the oils are carefully extracted from olives which have reached the optimal ripeness. Straight after harvesting, the olives are crushed into a paste to carefully obtain the olive oil by cold extraction at the estate's own oil mill.

This ensures that all the valuable ingredients in the olives are retained. The result are exceptional olive oils with an intense green to golden yellow colour, with a fruity flavour and distinctive smell. With their unique sensory properties, the Demeter olive oils from Olival da Risca have won various renowned prizes and awards over the last few years.

Our Story

A Portuguese house brings health and tradition to the table!

The Mediterranean Diet is a particularly valued food with ancient tradition, recently ranked as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO especially to be associated with an increase in average life expectancy, the prevention of type 2 diabetes, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and internal inflammation, among others.

This heritage, shared by seven countries - including Portugal - is based on the intake of vegetables, fruit, bread and wholegrain cereals, legumes, nuts and oilseeds (such as walnuts, almonds or nuts), fish and white meat instead of red meat, using olive oil as the main source of fat. Fresh and dried herbs are frequently used in the Mediterranean kitchen, reducing the amount of salt added in food confection. The moderate consumption of red wine with a meal is also common. All this happens around the table where family and friends gather, passing on knowledge between generations.

As a nutritionist, licensed by the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences, University of Porto (Portugal) and passionate about our food, I intend to disclose Portugal abroad. I integrate the mission of promoting the tradition of a country, which, although not bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, has its roots in a diet and habits with these characteristics.
