Meet Anne Brightman Atalla

I'm a native Texan and proud of my roots but as long as I can remember I've had an unquenchable curiosity for exploring new cultures and discovering new territories. Having lived and traveled in more countries than I can recall I consider myself to be truly a citizen of the world. I lived and worked many years in Brazil where I became fluent in Portuguese and my passion for all things Lusofonia led me to Portugal. I came to Lisbon on vacation and like many before me I wound up with the keys to a new home in my pocket.

I find people frequently asking me the question “Why Portugal?” According to one of the world's most comprehensive reports on ex patriot living - Expat Insider 2017 - Portugal has the best quality of life in the world. This ranking comes as a result of friendly tax benefits, the comparatively low cost of living and inexpensive, good healthcare. In addition to this Portugal is Noº 3 on the World Safety Index. The country has unpolluted fresh air and the bluest skies, a huge coast line with pristine beaches, great food and nationally grown wines and oh...on average 300 warm sunny days a year! This and more made me decide that Portugal was the ideal country to call home.

As an investor I felt like I hit the jackpot when I compared the quality of life with the price per square meter in one of the oldest, most charming capitals of Europe. A stable economy with steady economic growth, a peaceful and secure environemt, an inexpensive cost of living and beautiful weather combine to make Portugal an excellent option for anyone seeking to invest, work or retire in Europe.
