Road trip 🇵🇹🇪🇸 dia 3: Algarve
As falésias do Algarve são impressionantes e a melhor maneira de vê-las é fazendo o passeio de barco. Saímos do centro de Lagos e fomos até a Ponta da Piedade, entrando pelas grutas e aproveitando que ainda é baixa temporada e não está super lotado e nem super quente. Até o Simbinha curtiu o passeio! Depois disso almoçamos e pegamos a estrada para a Espanha.

This past weekend was truly one of the coolest experiences of my life and such a special time for us as a family. I had a few days off work here in Madrid so our family went to Southern Portugal to the Algarve and Lagos for a little adventure.

We went on a lot of hikes and just spent lots of time hanging out on the beach. On our Friday morning hike in Lagos we saw a long set of stairs leading down to the water that we decided to check out. At the bottom were some very small boats giving tours so we decided to jump in one. It took us along the coastline of Portugal and inside all these tiny caves! It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

Looking back on that whole weekend I am feeling so blessed and grateful. I am grateful for my family and this opportunity, and grateful for my health and that my body was able to give me these experiences.

Right before I started Carnivore I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus, it tore just from the weight of my 263 pound body wearing it down. I NEVER would have made it up and down those stairs before, or been able to enjoy climbing on the rocks and playing on the beach with my kids. I never would have suggested we go for a hike before, and I certainly never would have gotten in that little boat at the weight I was before. Honestly Chris and I probably would have been too heavy for that little boat before, the life jacket wouldn't have fit, and we certainly all wouldn't have fit on one seat as a family.

This journey is so much more than being skinny or hitting a number on the scale, it's about giving yourself the opportunity to live the life you want to live! I am so grateful for that everyday. Our family will always remember this special time we had together.
