More often than not, when we're developing new cocktails we tend to lean on gastronomic memories from our childhood, or dishes that makes us happy, such is the case of the CURRY ON 🌱

My mom makes this Goan Crab Curry since I can remember and she has learned to make it with her mom, that learned how to make it with my great grandmother and it's also a testament of how food travelled through the old portuguese colonies 🌊⛴️🦀

The first time I brought Semi to my house, my mom cooked it for him and he was hooked, so it was only natural we'd end up making a cocktail based on a dish we love so much.

In every menu there is an out of the box flavour, what we would call a level 4 drink. It doesn't taste like anything that we commonly know, so the familiar element is gone, it tastes like something new, and the new can often be so refreshing.

Such was the case of the Fallen Into Love: Pandan & Matcha Redistilled Rum, Custard Apple, Almond Torrone and Marsala Wine.

Out of the menu for this year but we thought it deserved a place on the feed as it gave us so much pleasure to create and to serve 💚

MARTINI SOCIAL CLUB HOUSE 🏠👩🏽‍🏫📒🍸

A few weeks ago a group of bartenders, a brand ambassador, a chef and a food consultant got together for a 2 day immersion into the world of bartending 🪄

Various subjects were discussed, ranging from physical to mental health, guest experience and how to improve hospitality systems to benefit bartenders health and life both in and outside of the work environment.

The culmination of these two days of lively talks and broadening our sense of community was a visit to the wonderful Mercado do Bolhão, in Porto, where we got to choose a variety of ingredients to do what we do best, COCKTAILS!! 🍾🍸

The ingredients chosen were all very gastronomic and we got to, all together, create 4 fantastic cocktails with a focus on Low Alcoholic Ingredients.

These cocktails are embarking on a tour across the country, and this week, we’re featuring two of them here at .lx . Simultaneously, another two are being showcased at .teste 🪩

We invite you to visit both our bars this week and indulge in the fantastic concoctions we have meticulously crafted. Cheers!

As much as we love to go out of the box and the conventional when it comes to creating our cocktails, we also aim to be inclusive to every palate, so we observe and keep on adding to our menu drinks that are simpler to understand and therefore, to enjoy fully by those of you who are still venturing into the cocktail world :)

Such is the case of the Mundo Libre: Dark Rum, Tonka Beans, Amaro Camatti, Lime and Coca Cola. A slightly more complex take on the classic Cuba Libre, with notes of vanilla and almond from the tonka and the addition of an herbal nuance from the amaro, here is a drink that will open your palate to something a bit different, yet still familiar.

THE ROYAL MEDI 🫒 Za'atar Distilled Gin, Olive Oil, Fino Sherry, Cerignola Syrup, Fever-tree Tonic

The herbal balsamic notes of the gin are nuanced when it's fat washed with extra virgin olive oil which imparts a delicious silky mouthfeel, we then add crafted cerignola 🫒 syrup to add a subtle umami sweetness that harmonizes perfectly with the tonic's effervescence.
