This is Luís Soares Duarte @quinta_alto_da_serra who shares thoughts on his wines from Serra de Alto, Douro. For us, these wines are a splendid example of natural winemaking in such a renowned region as the Douro Valley. The wines are vibrant, rich and full of character, complemented by stylish labels. You can find and experience almost the entire range of his wines at Locals and Nomads.

Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a full dinner, it’s easy to have it at LN, pairing with our lit selection of natural wines from around the world. Muhammara: Spicy roasted pepper pâté with walnuts. Hummus: delicately vibrant and eastern-inspired, with marinated onions and capers. This is an example of disgorging Pet-Nat in a water container, allowing the yeast to remain there and prevent it from splashing everyone around. Pet-Nat (Petillant Naturel) is an abbreviation of the French term “pétillant naturel,” which translates to “naturally sparkling.” Pet-Nat wines are natural sparkling wines that go through a process of spontaneous fermentation in the bottle without the addition of extra yeast or sugar. This sets them apart from traditional sparkling wines, which utilize controlled secondary fermentation. One of our fav português winery. Let’s watch this short interview with winemakers and join Locals and Nomads for tasting these natural wines.

We are who we are. We’re wine enthusiasts and wine professionals, we’re immigrants and entrepreneurs, we’re curious and bold. We’ve embarked on a new chapter of our lives right here in Lisbon. We’re the ones who have already become a part of this city. We are both locals and nomads at the same time. Every person has their own unique experiences, perspectives and identity, we are sure - this diversity should be celebrated, not suppressed. We are proud of who we are but always strive for better. We want to share our knowledge, emotions and passion for natural wine with you, fueling more your thirst for discovery and new experiences. At Locals and Nomads Portuguese wines share the shelves with wines from far and wide, just like immigrants, expats and travelers share the streets of Portugal’s cities, coexisting, interacting, building meaningful connections and romantic bonds, complementing each other without losing their individuality. Lisbon is a salad bowl, not a melting pot, and we really like it and feel it. Our wine selection, carefully curated with great attention and love, tells the stories of stunning places, unique ecosystems and talented winemakers, many of whom were also nomads until they found their place and their land. Let’s raise our glasses together and celebrate the freedom to be ourselves, to be accepted by others, and to feel connected to the place we currently call home. The opportunity to be free. We are who we are, and that is undoubtedly precious. Nós somos quem somos

Olá, Wine Lovers! We’re passionate about showcasing the diverse world of natural wine and wide spectrum of styles. From offbeat and funky to elegant, meditative, reflective. We open up new wines every single day, giving you a choice of over 20 different bottles by the glass. We’re convinced that it’s important for everyone to have the opportunity to try a diverse range of wines by the glass, not only by the bottle. We don’t have a wine menu at all, instead, all the prices are written on the each bottle. Every week we update our selection by introducing new wines, including Portuguese wines and from far and wide. We also have our own imports and wines which you can’t find in the other bars. We offer each guest a small free tasting of 3-4 wines, so you can choose a glass that suits your current mood and broaden your tasting experience. We’re not interested in simply pouring wine; we’re interested in engaging with each guest, sharing information about natural wine, breaking clichés, stereotypes and the confusion surrounding this term. Natural wine doesn’t make you better or worse, but it can be a delightful starting point for getting to know new people, new knowledges and a deeper appreciation for the world’s diversity and beauty. And of course, it’s just pleasure, because it’s so delicious beverage. Join us! Drink, Eat, Enjoy. We are open every day. Locals and Nomads Wine bar, Wine Shop, Wine Lovers. The first time we tried wines by Nuria Renom at the legendary Brutal bar @barbrutalbarcelona in Barcelona. Impressed, we messaged her on Instagram and asked to visit her winery, it was in January 2022. In April 2023, we proudly brought Nuria’s energetic, generous, and emotional wines to our bar Locals and Nomads in Lisbon. Nuria warmly greets you from her vineyards in Penedes, Catalonia and we’re inviting you to come and try vibrant, generous and incredibly emotional wines that capture the essence of Nuria herself. They’re as beautiful, full of drive and super fun as she is. Perfect for parties and easy on the wallet. Time to pour Nuria’s wines into your glasses, come join us! #localsandnomads #naturalwine

Dia da Liberdade and our video expressing love for Lisbon, Portugal and freedom. April 25th, 1974 is a significant day in the history of Portugal, marking the end of a repressive era under the Estado Novo regime that was founded by António de Oliveira Salazar and lasted for over four decades. The Carnation Revolution brought an end to the regime’s oppressive rule and paved the way for a new era of democracy, freedom and human rights, which the people of Portugal celebrate with immense pride and gratitude. Looking back, the dictatorship was a dark period in Portugal’s history, hampering progress and suppressing the voices of its citizens for far too long. However, the Portuguese people’s unyielding determination to fight for their freedom and rights is a testament to their resilience and courage.Despite the challenges that Portugal may face today, we believe that choosing freedom and democracy was the right decision, and we are confident that Portugal has a bright future ahead. Nowadays, Portugal is a country that values diversity and promotes inclusivity, with a wealth of culture, history and stunning architecture and nature. Dia da Liberdade is a time to look back on Portugal’s journey and renew our dedication to protecting the rights and freedoms of everyone. We’re excited to be a part of this vibrant, modern Portugal, especially here in Lisbon, which we now call home. See you today and every day Locals and Nomads Wine Bar, Wine Shop, Wine Lovers
