A lot of people will tell you that gluten and dairy will not affect your weight loss journey if you have PCOS.
Well.. they’re wrong! Here’s why:
🌼 Your gut health really matters when you have PCOS and any sort of inflammation can trigger the symptoms.
Food that is high in gluten can cause poor gut health which is why we need to go gluten free.
Going gluten free will help our leptin (hormone that regulates appetite) recognize whether we are truly full or hungry.
So, what is Gluten?
the thing that gives your bread/pasta/noodle/cake dough that elasticity and that chewy texture you feel when you eat it.

If you are a bread lover and can’t live without it.. don’t worry! There’s a solution:
👉Sourdough breads are low in gluten
👉bread made of nut flour/coconut flour
👉buckwheat flour/oat flour/brown rice flour
Alternatively, you can make your pasta/noodles/pizza crust/burger bun/cookies/cakes/pastries with all the above mentioned flours and you’re good to go 💁🏻♀️

We PCOS gals mostly have high insulin levels and if we consume dairy.. our insulin levels will become crazy high 🤯
👉casein protein in dairy promotes inflammation (which will largely affect you if you have inflammatory PCOS)
👉insulin resistance will instruct our ovaries to produce more testosterone (and boy oh boy.. we don’t need any more of that !!😤😩)
So inflammation on top of insulin resistance will stress our cells and our symptoms will keep worsening!! 😭😭😭

You don’t need to give up dairy FOREVER!
All you need to do is:
Try giving up dairy for 1 month to see if you notice any healthy changes (which I am sure you will).
Once these symptoms become less severe.. you can slowly start introducing dairy in your diet to see how much your body can tolerate without triggering your symptoms.

Most women with PCOS have irregular period cycles.
Here's how PCOS affects your menstrual cycle:
every month a follicle matures and gets released by your ovaries to be fertilized. But because of the hormonal imbalance seen in PCOS (typically higher levels of androgens like testosterone and high levels of luteinizing hormone), the follicle doesn't mature or get released. Instead of being released, the follicle (often miscalled a cyst) stays in the ovaries where it can be seen on an ultrasound. High levels of circulating androgens such as testosterone interfere with your menstrual cycle and can prevent ovulation. Without ovulation and the hormonal events that lead up to it, your uterus does not have the stimulation it needs to shed its lining.

I try to walk atleast 15k steps everyday but today I made it to 25k again and I am ecstatic!
