Waiting Room is an illustrated ode to desire, tiny dreams and distraction; illustrations of Rachel Johnstons un-purchased Ebay and Vestiaire watchlists compiled in hospital waiting rooms. Rachel frequents these places of waiting for the foreseeable future and whenever she has to be there an
uncomfortable mix of nervousness, dread, familiarity and security pulses through. She has found that the key to surviving an anxious wait is to find the perfect light hearted distraction, something that lets your daydreams and emotions mingle without too much reason getting in the way. Rachel shows them simply to say that sometimes what sustains us is fleeting and deliciously frivolous.

As we're nearing a climate catastrophe at a rapid rate and apparently due to the actions of a narcissistic Russian sociopath could also be heading for WW3 - the brilliant (bi-polar) mind of Ye and the creative eye of Demna Gvasalia gave the US of A's yesteryears favourite apparel company The Gap a total make-over. Their magic eight ball is apparently predicting what future hipsters will be wearing when they're foraging through the forest looking for berries and mushrooms "Yellowjacket" style in order to turn into a stew. Afterwards they'll be rolling out their black shiny 500 $ plus sleeping bag. Once the moon hits the sky like a big pizza pie they'll softly hum the melody of "Praise God" as they snuggle into their black 300 $ made in China hoodie, shutting their eyes in order to dream of more glorious past times. Like when they were staring at pale teenagers at an Anne Imhof performance. Or.... there's another possibility - given the fact that the Zodiac Killer has never been apprehended - I feel this collection is also something I'd ponder wearing when out stalking my next victim. Thanks to the sturdy footwear one can easily chase them through heavy mud or a flooded river bed.
