My husband and I had the most amazing wedding in Ponta Delgada the largest city on Sao Miguel Island in the Azores. The Azores are a region of Portugal made up of 9 islands mid-Atlantic. There is non stop air service from Newark Airport to Sao Miguel.
If you are looking for an inexpensive, beautiful place to get married, this is hands down the place.
We had a wedding planner that organized hair, makeup, photography, performed the ceremony, and ended with a private dinner overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The whole experience was truly beyond our wildest dreams. Lisa, our wedding planner put together a wedding that we will never forget. Our photographer Nuno and his wife Iva provided us with first class photos and video of the whole experience.
