Songkran is the traditional new year celebration in Thailand, which takes place from April 13th to 15th every year. It is also known as the "water festival," as people splash water on one another as a way of cleansing and purification.

In Thailand, the festival involves parades, food offerings to monks, temple visits, and other traditional activities, and is a time for family gatherings and reunions. It is one of the most important celebrations in the Thai calendar.
