‘Que Mar se Vê Afinal da Minha Língua?’ é uma exposição mutante que resulta de um processo de investigação ainda em curso desenvolvido pela curadora
Margarida Saraiva. O interesse recai sobre práticas artísticas contemporâneas nos mundos de expressão portuguesa, tendo por premissa os cruzamentos disciplinares entre a fotografia, o vídeo, o cinema, a poesia, a pintura, a escultura e os novos media. A abordagem temática parte de questões cruciais como memória e história, colonização e descolonização, identidades e globalização meio século volvido sobre o 25 de Abril, sem deixar de se questionar sobre o futuro: o que será do espaço de expressão portuguesa daqui a dois ou três séculos? O que será da liberdade e da língua num mundo gerido por algoritmos e obcecado com a vigilância no espaço privado, público e digital?

Mexico is experiencing a diversity of problems, among them stand out violence and insecurity. This reality is a harbinger of a constant state of crisis: the criminalization of migrants, the persecution and the disappearance of people, which in Mexico exceeded one hundred thousand in 2022. The various forms of violence expose the banalization associated with the decay of the social relations, and the impunity in the face of cases of human rights violations. However, issues such as poverty and social exclusion are the consequences of an economic system that is not exclusive to this country.
"Voz e Resistência" aims to make visible that which is ignored. The artists exhibited share an insight on this theme, unveiling the structural flaws of our social en economic system.

“Mascarada” poster, design for Astro Fingido, was selected to be part of Bienal del Cartel Bolivia, 2023 edition.

The Bolivia BICeBé® Poster Biennial is the most important international design and visual arts event in Bolivia and the Southern Cone, integrating the Latin American region through the teaching of responsible design practice.

This year, BICeBé have received more than 12,500 posters from 90 countries around the world. 541 posters were selected.

The main exhibition will take place at Santa Cruz de la Serra, on 23th November.

Art education, ever since it abandoned the masters' workshops to become part of the University system, has been the subject of countless arguments and, sometimes, the source of disagreement. The contemporary artistic discourse requires an awareness of the present that does not prevail in the more institutional education apparatus, which are by nature, too slow to provide answers to the urgencies of the present. Programs and curricular units in traditional schools and universities are slow to change and adapt, their evaluation methods, often modeled after the Liberal Arts, are inadequate and contested. Since the late 1960s, we see the slow development of alternative models of artistic education, promoted by institutions devoted to art exhibition and research.

We will be joined by Binna Choi and Annette Krauss from Casco Art Center (NL), Juergen Bock from Maumaus (PT) and Perla Montelongo from Node Center for Curatorial Studies (DE), and also mentor of the House of Inventions project (MX).
