Câmara do Porto quer eternizar o “Senhor Batatinha” na Foz do Douro De forma a eternizar a figura do senhor Batatinha, o presidente da Câmara do Porto confirmou esta segunda-feira que é intenção da União de Freguesias de Aldoar, Foz do Douro e Nevogilde fazer uma nova representação artística em um novo mural naquela freguesia.

Obrigado José Alves pelas memórias de infância e o dia que partilhamos na inauguração de este mural, foi um dia cheio de gargalhadas e histórias contadas de momentos vividos nas praias da Foz e Matosinhos.
Mais que uma personalidade da cidade do Porto, José era carismático , brincalhão e uma pessoa de bem.

Condolências à familia.

Muy contento de pintar en uno de mis países favoritos y donde he vivido 3 años.

Este mural es un tributo a Cervantes.
Una de las máximas figuras de la literatura española, el creador de Don Quijote de la Mancha nascido en 1547 Alcala de Henares , Madrid.

“Generations”

This mural is a tribute to Nagoselo philharmonic band which this year celebrates 125 years and two generations are represented, the oldest and young member of the band, Antonio aged 60 and Rodrigo 10.

It’s a honor to be part of team and bring color to one of the most beautiful landscapes in Portugal. The Douro Vinhateiro was the first demarcated wine region in the world (1756) and is considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Special thanks to all artists involved and everyone that help and make the first edition of Douro Streetart Festival a special one 🍷

“Guarda rios”

Guarda rios é uma profissão que visa preservar os recursos hídricos dos rios evitando a contaminação por parte de empresas ou privados. Foi extinta em 1995 sendo que o governo decidiu recuperar esta profissão no ano de 2021.

Este mural é dedicado a esta profissão nobre e foi inaugurado no dia Nacional dos guarda rios juntamente com algumas actividades na Ribeira da granja que hoje em dia se encontra completamente recuperada das toneladas de resíduos que diariamente desaguavam no rio Douro.

Obrigada à Catarina Valente e toda a equipa envolvida em este projeto.

Último fim de semana para visitar a exposição de arte urbana Baluarte no quartel Monte Pedral, Porto.

“José Alves, 1941”

This mural is a tribute to José Alves, an emblematic figure from Porto.
For 72 years, he’s been selling potato chips at the beach in Foz, Porto.
While painting this wall I myself relived many of childhood memories at the beach.

I decided to make his picture in this wall, to celebrate him as part of the collective memories of the people that, throughout this 72 years spent their summer days at the beach in Foz.

Later I invite him to come for the exhibition opening day and even tried to reach is family to help me convince him without success.

Yet, in the opening day I had a big surprise. He was there with his family.

It's people like José that makes Porto so unique and they should never be forgotten.

The challenge here was to incorporate my ideas with so many windows but the most important is always the final result. It’s feels like Tokyo.

This wall was challenging due to its scale. Nevertheless I had lots of space to let my imagination fly. I wanted to represent Schenker philosophy and its workers in regard to their will to arrive their final destinations. Impossible is nothing.
