PISQ The Ilustrado

Two of PISQ’s very own students, Janeal Anne M. Agustin of 12 STEM B and Marcus Wein E. Montero of 11 STEM D participated in “Science for A Change” Poster Competition hosted by the Qatar Foundation. The two teamed up and created a poster titled, “The Renewable Energy Source of The Century: Innovation of Sand in CSP”. On May 13, 2021, these students were given an opportunity to take the virtual stage and present their poster to the judges of Qatar Foundation. Both Monteiro and Agustin were coached by Mrs. Judileine Dabin, a Senior High School Science teacher and Mr. Jherome De Guzman, a Junior High School MAPEH teacher.

On March 4, 2021, a PISQian became part of the Tatawwar Programme’s top 20 finalist out of 5050 young innovators and became a Tatawwar Ambassador in Qatar.

And the Blue Phoenixes take home the bronze! PISQ bagged the third place in the Qatar Schools Debate League - Boys (QDSL-B) as it finally came to an end on March 30, 2021. Three talented PISQians were able to qualify for the Top 10.

Oscar Wilde once mentioned that “any man can make history. Only a great man can write it.:” On March 13-14, eight PISQians rewrote history as they faced off against schools from the Middle East and European regions. With their endeavor and teamwork, these students have secured themselves a spot in the European Championships! We cannot wait to see them once more in the virtual stage.

After months of deliberation, the Ilustrado family is finally growing! On February 21, Ilustrado welcomed talented PISQians as the new members of the paper gazette.
