LIWA 2024 Festival

The annual Liwa Tal Moreeb festival attracts the region’s most powerful four-wheel drive vehicles and bikers to face exciting challenges including motocross, camel and horse racing along with a classic cars competition and freestyle drifting.

This festival is a 25 day-long celebration of UAE heritage with competitions and activities with the highlight feature of the festival, the adventurous race to the 300m top of one of the world’s highest sand hills.

CT supplied a huge rig and array of 78 Panasonic RQ35 video projectors to create a spectacular visual backdrop to the event displaying an epic, 13,200 m2 video content across the massive Tal Moreeb dune. With content design by the super creative , festival goers were treated to three specially curated films telling stories about Emirati culture as well as the all-important hill climb statistics and data.

To support the video across the vast arena, a powerful and highly intelligible sound reinforcement system was essential. CTME leveraged their inventory of premier audio solutions, deploying a system comprising 32 d&b Audiotechnik KSL line array cabinets, complemented by 18 SL-SUB subwoofers. These were strategically arranged into nine ground stacks, each consisting of four KSL cabinets over two SL-SUBs.

In the LIWA food truck area, to enhance the ambiance for guests enjoying the general entertainment away from the main event activities, CTME deployed 30 L-Acoustics Syva speaker systems. These speakers were connected via a wireless satellite network, providing comprehensive and seamless audio coverage throughout the village area.

The project was a long time in planning with the critical projection map scanning of the Tal Moreeb dune using drones and which had moved 4m in the months leading up to the event. Many thanks to our client Artists in Motion for having us onboard for this memorable event.

Riyadh's King Fahd International Stadium saw a breathtaking display of culture, music, and dance during the esteemed Saudi Games 2023 opening ceremony earlier this week.

The ceremony marked the commencement of yet another significant sporting event in Saudi Arabia, featuring a diverse array of performances. Among the highlights were ceremonial torch lighting, vibrant fireworks, and captivating light shows, collectively setting an engaging atmosphere for the audience.

As the largest athletic event in the Kingdom, the Saudi Games 2023 boasts the participation of over 6,000 athletes competing across 53 events until December 10th. This year's event welcomed athletes from various disciplines, including tennis, boxing, archery, wrestling, and Thai boxing, among others.

Creative Technology (CT) played a pivotal role in delivering state-of-the-art audio and video solutions for this iconic ceremony on behalf of our client, Balich Wonder Studio. Our contributions included a comprehensive projection canvas, a blend of creative LED & projection to makeup the upstage main presentation screens, alongside four bespoke athletes entrance tunnels cladded with our new invest ROE Vanish v8t. Driving the system was six disguise vx4+ media servers which delivered 42 unique media server channels.

The main PA system, was deployed in 12 ground stacks, ensuring thorough coverage of the Bowl. For the athletes' area, CTME selected the d&b XSL Series, with three stacks on each side, facilitating superior audio distribution with minimal sightline interference. This setup resulted in an impeccable mix of noise control, speech intelligibility, and sheer power when needed.

The VIP zone utilised the AL-Series ground stacks, selected for their precision and unique dispersion, offering a powerful output while preserving a remarkably low profile. The VIP Royal box featured the high-fidelity d&b E-Series system, discreet and potent, for an unintrusive yet impactful audio experience.

The complex audio landscape was orchestrated using a DiGiCo Quantum 338 in tandem with an SD12 for monitor mixes. The comprehensive I/O requirements were adeptly managed through an extensive Optocore network featuring several DiGiCo SD-Racks, Mini Racks, and Nano Racks. The RF setup included 16 channels of Shure Axient Digital and a 24-way Shure PSM1000 system for In-Ear Monitor duties.

The event’s audio narrative was brought to life by the top-tier equipment and the highly proficient audio engineers and technicians. Their expertise and focused approach were central to the flawless auditory experience delivered at the event.

This event commemorates Jabal Ikmah's induction into the prestigious UNESCO Memory of the World Register. Here, attendees are invited on an immersive journey, unravelling the enigmatic tales and wonders of Jabal Ikmah through a captivating show projected onto the mountain's surface.

Creative Technology (CT) are proud to be part of this event, providing video, lighting and audio solutions on behalf of our client ImagineExperience.

Our involvement encompasses a cutting-edge display of 27 x 50K Panasonic Projectors and disguise servers, spanning 33,600 square meters of the rocky canvas with a remarkable projection throw extending 285 meters.

For audio, an immersive L'Acoustics Syva system, comprising 6 boxes and 4 subs, envelops the seating area, while 25 x L'Acoustic 5xt speakers are strategically positioned along a 300-meter rocky pathway, all orchestrated seamlessly from a Digico desk and racks.

Moreover, 56 x Astera ax5s were integrated into lanterns to illuminate the pathways, complemented by 24 x Elation Maximus and 16 x Elation Exaclibur lights that artfully set the ambience of the night, all controlled by a GrandMA 3 lighting desk and NPU.

The event spans from the 16th of November to the 30th of December, inviting all to witness the harmonious convergence of technology, heritage, and the enchanting allure of AlUla.

Worldwide Conferences United by Creative Technology CT showcased global capabilities by seamlessly connecting 3 international conferences in real-time, with one combined digital presentation space.

Creative Technology (CT) was once again at the DP World Tour Championship 2023 at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, providing our Tournament Television service comprising of TVs, LED screens in the Media Centre, DP World Chalet and Villa and on-course digital LED leaderboards.

The four-day event, which started on 16th November, saw the world’s greatest golfers competing for the coveted crown and a significant prize fund at this much-awaited sporting showcase. The results saw Nicolai Hojgaard win the DP World Tour Championship, while Rory Mcllroy claimed the Race to Dubai title.

WWE Crown Jewel recently took place at the Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, featuring WWE's biggest superstars, including the 16-time World Champion, John Cena.

Last month Creative Technology worked closely with client DONE AND DUSTED to deliver visual display technology for epic ‘Battle of the Baddest’ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, Returns! Last month, the new Abu Dhabi International Airport witnessed a hero's welcome for UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi as he touched down from his mission at the International Space Station.

The Qatar Grand Prix, which saw Red Bull driver Max Verstappen win the world title, took place last weekend in Doha.

Creative Technology (CT) supplied over 607sqm of LED as well as a d&b audio system across the impressive 5.419 Kilometre circuit on behalf of our client Lusail International Circuit.

Our video solution consisted of 10 X LED screens strategically placed opposite the grandstands and facing the VIP area, while our audio system comprised 81 speaker towers. Alongside this, we provided a camera monitor system to monitor all the screens from one central control location and a Dante distribution system for the audio.

Creative Technology successfully delivered an unforgettable visual experience at the WWE Night of Champions held at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia.

Providing an impressive 1200sqm of LED across 15 screens, CT utilised InfiLED ART 4.6 for the entrance screen, overring, and VIP screens, while the leg towers featured the Roe Vanish8 - both highly impressive technologies. Managing a whopping 27 million pixels with a redundant system of H15 Novastar processors was no small feat for our dedicated team.

CT's Senior Video Engineer, Brian Daya, comments, "Effective communication and seamless teamwork between all key suppliers made this production a success". Daya adds, "Thank you to our client Screenworks and everyone involved and here's to many more successful events in the future!"

Creative Technology Middle East's lighting team recently completed the three-day GrandMA 3 Training University Course in Dubai!

The course took a hands-on approach, allowing our team to delve deep into the world of GrandMA 3 lighting consoles. In an industry that's constantly progressing, staying ahead of the curve and continually improving our knowledge and skillset is crucial. With shows becoming increasingly complex, staying up to date with the latest software and features is paramount.

The MA University has provided our team with comprehensive training programs, ensuring lifelong learning opportunities and constant improvement. Whether mastering the MA console or setting up a network with MA hardware solutions, our team is up to date and armed with certified worldwide knowledge from MA Lighting International.
