What is 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 and what are the activities of 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 in a multinational corporation? Well, that’s quite an easy task that requires only to take an intensive course, jointly organized by FEAA - Facultatea de Economie și Administrarea Afacerilor Iași and Continental Romania, so to learn directly from the financial controllers and the analysts in the Continental Controlling Service Center Iași. ❤️ Starting January 2024 our students from the FRM - Master in Finance and Risk Management and invited students from other study programmes of FEAA participated in various modules of the new Financial Controlling course included as part of the FRM updated curriculum. In March 2024 all successful attendees received a certificate of participation. We would like to thank Continental Romania and especially Andreea Tcaciuc, Head of Controlling Service Center Iași, for their extensive efforts in bringing the practice into the academic classroom and so providing our students with a valued learning experience from practitioners! We are positive that 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 will establish itself as another successful academia-industry collaborative project in the curriculum of the Master in Finance and Risk Management. From 11 to 22 March 2024, FRM students, together with their colleagues from our partner universities in Bologna and Vienna, and other international students, had an enjoyable two-week learning experience at of with our professors Cezar Chirilă, Alin Andries and Sorin Anton, working in international teams and developing a credit scorecard based on the real-life case of a commercial bank from Romania. On February 24th, when traditional Romania celebrates Dragobete ❤️💛💙 FRM - Master in Finance and Risk Management of the FEAA - Facultatea de Economie și Administrarea Afacerilor Iași celebrates its return to a traditional competition it’s been in love with since 2012. For FRM students representing Universitatea „Alexandru Ioan Cuza" din Iași in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, the Dragobete of 2024 represented a day for a new beginning, with all its joy and momentum. After several years of going online, the local final of the prestigious competition organized by CFA Society Romania brought back the onsite presentation of the equity research report, the joy of meeting face to face, of being together - students, professors and practitioners in the investment industry. 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙠 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 congratulates Olguta, Макс, Teodor, Dan-Pavel and Constantin for their hard work and, mostly, impressive efficiency in writing and presenting a great research report in the most challenging, yet most rewarding experience from CFA Institute for students all over the world. It was also exciting to mark this new beginning by having Bogdan Temneanu CFA, FRM Alumnus and Winner of the 1st Edition of CFA Research Challenge, as the new industry mentor. Back to life! FRM - Master in Finance and Risk Management hosted during 10-21 July 2023 another successful edition of JASSY Summer School of Universitatea „Alexandru Ioan Cuza" din Iași. Participants from Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Republic of Moldova and Romania were introduced to the financial analysis component of the programme through interactive lectures given by FEAA - Facultatea de Economie și Administrarea Afacerilor Iași professors Silviu Ursu and Iulian Ihnatov, coordinators of FRM courses Corporate Finance and Analysis and Corporate Valuation. During the two weeks the participants also took part in several workshops in which they played roles of “financial detectives”, financial analysts and investors in financial markets, getting the know-how of analyzing financial statements and using financial models in Excel to evaluate the value-creation financial decisions of a business. April brought not one, but several surprises to the students of FRM - Master in Finance and Risk Management. Besides the unexpected snow of magnolias ❄️🌺, two successful events - an oral exam in Advanced Mathematics for Economics and an interesting guest lecture in the Corporate Finance and Analysis course were the headlines of the first week. Inspired by last week’s successful roundtable on Academia-Industry Collaboration, 1st of the FRM Talks on the Future of Ready Minds took place on Monday - April 3rd, in the Laboratory For Ready Minds of FEAA - Facultatea de Economie și Administrarea Afacerilor Iași. Horia Ciochina, FRM Alumnus 2014 and Managing Director of Cashtriba brought to class his practitioner insights on the topic of cash flow, working capital and liquidity management… and a surprise. Besides the valuable knowledge, Oana Viișoreanu and Cristofor Voicu, our FRM students with the best answers to a quiz, were rewarded with a high-value gift to use in their Future of a Ready Mind. Spring Equinox is a time of rebirth. 🍀 So it’s no surprise that March 20th, 2023 marks the start, once again onsite in Vienna, of one of the best courses available abroad to our students of FRM - Master in Finance and Risk Management. The intensive programme “Advanced Topics in Asset Management” is one of the most successful outcomes of the International Project INTQUANT, designed to enhance the international mobility and the competencies of the investment professionals of the future. For the next two weeks six of our students will be introduced by professors of FH des BFI Wien and practitioners of Raiffeisenlandesbank NOe-Wien to the practice of setting up an investment fund, considering the regulatory compliance. We want to thank our partner university, especially to professors Silvia Helmreich and Christian Cech from programme, for their continuous efforts to offer a great learning experience to students of FEAA - Facultatea de Economie și Administrarea Afacerilor Iași. Thanks giving in Groningen on FEB Master’s Day! 🤗 FRM - Master in Finance and Risk Management joined its esteemed partner University of Groningen - Faculty of Economics and Business for the official presentation of its master programmes. Since 2010, FEB’s MSc Finance, one of the best masters in Finance in the Netherlands, has been the source of inspiration for the FRM design and also the most attractive of the double degree options For Ready Minds in Iași. Rotariu Stefania Denis and Octavian Ciocîrlan, currently studying for a double degree in Groningen, joined the conversation on curriculum and partnership development of the master coordinators - Auke Plantinga, Steffen Eriksen and Silviu Ursu, with valuable insights on the opportunities for personal development that time well spent in Groningen can bring.
