Visually, the rug is inspired by the tradition of overlaying rugs by mixing geometric patterns and clean lines.

Hand knotted in Himalayan wool on a black dyed cotton foundation, with various pile heights and textures and neutral color palette, Ensemble rug is an invitation to embrace beauty and elegance in its essential forms.

Mihaela Bordeianu and Mihai Dragomir are the collaborative duo behind partnerpartner. Mihaela is an interior architect, while Mihai is a graphic designer. They view their collaborative work as a seamless extension of their professional pursuits, prioritizing the development of elements that effortlessly blend aesthetic appeal with functionality, thereby enhancing environments with a harmonious and unified approach.
For partnerpartner, the creative process remains consistently grounded in a visual compilation of atmospheres, colors, materials, textures, and moments. The goal is to skillfully harmonize the impact and artistic expression.

We are very excited to introduce K***ri Rug, from our latest collaboration Atelier Kairos X Eliza Yokina .

This collection is inspired by Bulgarian ancestral rituals, held at the beginning of each year mostly in the southern part of the country.
K***ri (кукери) are elaborately costumed Bulgarian men, who perform traditional rituals intended to scare away evil spirits. This Bulgarian tradition has been practiced since Thracian times and is of a Thracian origin.
This is supposed to be the last alive pagan ritual in Europe and in 2015, the festival has been designated as a UNESCO site of intangible cultural heritage.

Costumes are typically made from goat or sheep furs big, noisy bells are hanging on the waist of the K***r performer and scarry mask is covering the face creating an monstruous appearance.

The costumes, the masks the performance are acts of power and connection with the world of the unseen. I found the expression of this ritual also as a highly esthetic universe. While you watch this performance a powerful feeling runs through your veins it is a feeling of fear, joy and ecstasy. The dance aims to scare the bad spirits and clear the path for the spring to come.

Eliza Yokina

All Atelier Kairos rugs are hand knotted with natural materials.
We use Himalayan wool which comes from sheep grazing in the highlands of Tibet and is rich in lanolin , durable, soft and stain resistant .
Pure silk comes from China, its natural fibers are produced by the silkworm while wild h**p is sourced locally and is characterized by a hard texture.

We're very excited to announce a new design collaboration with architect Eliza Yokina.

An artistic personality, yet with an eye for details, Eliza is drawn to the sensitive reinterpretation of architecture and to the story behind it and powerfully relates with art and object design.
Eliza is the founding member of “De-a Arhitectura” Society , which brings culture of the built environment to schools.
She is the founding member of award-winning architecture office SYAA and currently she is senior partner in Cumulus Architecture.
Being a three-time winner of the Bucharest Architecture Annual and awarded at the Publishing Industry Gala 2012 with her book "Vise Despre Case" (Dreams about Houses), Eliza translates architecture and design as a way of better understanding life and the society we live in.
An active presence in the Bucharest artistic landscape, her projects stood out for their sensitivity and vigor, a mix that captures the essence of Eliza, as a person and as an architect.

Motif no.1 is a faint background sprinkled with lively highlights, that takes part in a delicate negotiation with the space and the furniture pieces, a subtle dance, back and forth, almost like the soft waves of the sea on the shore line.
