The Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and Ayaam Al-Beed are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.”
(Narrated by al-Nasaa’i (2420); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, (1040)).

In sha Allah, for Rajab 1438, Al Ayyam al-Beed will fall on:

13th – Monday 10th April
14th – Tuesday 11th April
15th – Wednesday 12th April

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “My close friend [the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] advised me to do three things which I will not give up until I die: fasting three days of each month, praying Duha, and sleeping after Witr.
(Bukhari & Muslim)

It was narrated that Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever prays for 40 days with the congregation, always being present for the first takbeer, it will be written that he will be safe from two things: he will be safe from the Fire and safe from hypocrisy.”

Classed as hasan by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Tirmithi, 200.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked:

What is your opinion on expensive dowries and extravagance in wedding parties, especially preparations for what is called the honeymoon, which includes high expenses? Does Islam approve of this?

He (may Allah have mercy on him) replied:

Expensive dowries and extravagance in wedding parties are things that are contrary to sharee‘ah. The most blessed marriage is that which is affordable; the less the expenses are, the greater the blessings. This is something that in most cases is the fault of women, because women are the ones who force their husbands to pay for expensive parties that are not allowed in sharee‘ah. This is something that is included in the words of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted (interpretation of the meaning): “…but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allâh) likes not Al-Musrifûn (those who waste by extravagance)” [al-A‘raaf 7:31]. Many women force their husbands to do that and say “So and so had such and such in her party” and so on.

But what is required in such matters is to act in the way prescribed in Islam and not overstep that mark or be extravagant, because Allah – may He be glorified and exalted – has forbidden extravagance and has said that He does not like those who waste by extravagance.

With regard to what is called the “honeymoon”, it is even worse and more reprehensible, because it is an imitation of the non-Muslims and it is a great waste of money. It also leads to neglect of many religious matters, especially if this time is spent in a non-Muslim country, after which they come back with habits and customs that are harmful to them and to their society. These are matters which are dangerous to the ummah. But if the man were to travel with his wife to do ‘Umrah or to visit Madinah, there is nothing wrong with that, in sha Allah.

عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ مَنْ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا الطَّعَامَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلاَ قُوَّةٍ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَمَنْ لَبِسَ ثَوْبًا فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلاَ قُوَّةٍ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ

Narrated Mu'adh ibn Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone eats food and then says: “(Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee 'at`amanee haathaa, wa razaqaneehi, min ghayri hawlin minnee wa laa quwwatin) Praise be to Allah Who has fed me with this food and provided me with it through no might and power on my part,” he will be forgiven his former and later sins. If anyone puts on a garment and says: “(Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee kasaanee haathaa (aththawba) wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlim-minnee wa laa quwwatin) Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with this and provided me with it through no might and power on my part,” he will be forgiven his former and later sins.

سہل بن معاذ بن انس، انس سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جس شخص نے یہ کھانا کھایا پھر کہا تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لئے ہیں جس نے کھانا مجھے کھلایا اور مجھے عطا کیا بغیر میری کسی قوت وطاقت کے تو اس کے اگلے پچھلے سارے گناہ (صغیرہ) معاف کر دیئے جاتے ہیں اور فرمایا کہ جس شخص نے کپڑا پہننے کے بعد کہا کہ تمام تعریف اللہ کے لئے ہے جس نے مجھے یہ کپڑا پہنایا اور یہ مجھے عطا کیا۔ میری کسی طاقت و قوت کے بغیر تو اس کے اگلے پچھلے گناہ (صغیرہ) معاف کر دئیے جاتے ہیں۔
