Islam does not permit any kind of arrogance or pride. As human beings we are expected to be humble and thankful for every thing that is granted to us.

Below is a verse which strictly condemns arrogance.

“And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allah likes not any arrogant boaster.

And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice.(Luqmaan 31:18-19)

Adding some more words:

“Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud?” (Surah az-Zumar 39:60)

“It shall be said: Enter the gates of hell to abide therein; so evil is the abode of the proud.” (Surah az-Zumar 39:72)
