Last week our learning, teaching and training activity in the framework of the ShapeMS project took place in Vicenza (Italy).

💼 Over the course of 3 days we were able to share our educational materials aimed at improving the employability of people with multiple sclerosis, engaging employers from the different countries participating in the project to shape a better future:

HORIZONTAL
As part of the project, we address this horizontal area holistically, fostering digital skills for all, considering the first and second strategic priority of the Digital education Action Plan and through two complementary approaches:
a) First strategic priority of the Action Plan – the project focuses on adult people with fewer opportunities experiencing lack of digital capacity. The project employs digital technologies at different project activities and levels. E.g. increased digital skills within participating organization, where organizations will explore all digital and technological possibilities by project implementation activities as well as management and dissemination. The second level is inclusion of digitalization in teaching and learning activities of organizations and seniors. Participating organizations will prepare their individual digital transformation plan – not only at the organizational level, but also evaluation of staff digital skills as a consequence of the project implementation.

b) Second strategic priority of the Action Plan – thefocuses on improving digital skills and competence development, also including those seniors with fewer opportunities. It is focusing on basic digital skills, emphasizing digital literacy for adults, which has become essential for functioning everyday life and to participate in civil society and inclusion.
This project also contributes to the European Digital Education Hub, which is envisaged to reinforce cooperation on digital education at the EU level and to contribute to exchange of good practices, co-creation and experimentation. The outputs will contribute to it from a lifelong learning perspective as we will also evaluate the increase of digital capacity by all the participants and organizations involved in the project, from the practical perspective. We aim to contribute to this horizontal priority for reaching out a large group of adults who are hard to reach for education, organizations, where involved parties will increase the use of digital tools in information sharing, good practices, communication, virtual learning and physical mobility. The organizations involved in the project will also use the SELFIE tool before and after the project to measure improvements in terms of digitization in organizations.,
SPECIFIC
The project increases the availability of high quality, flexible learning opportunities for target group. Digitalization and fully open project access provides support in opening unlimited and free opportunities for all interested parties to acquire new digital competencies or improve existing ones. It also includes the development of digital pedagogy, based in micro-training and storytelling, flexible learning opportunities and innovative use of digital educational content. We will give a particular attention to promoting gender equality, and underrepresented groups. However, we will also validate all the acquired skills via informal and non-formal learning.

MAIN OBJECTIVE:
- to empower adult people with fewer opportunities, namely those lives in rural areas, migrants and NEETs with new competencies and capacities to recognize their values, talents, increase personal goals clarity, self-confidence, discover potentials and foster positive self-image.

SPECIFIC:
• focus groups in partner countries to identify existing real-world challenges in post-covid time, linking to digitalization capabilities within lifelong learning to make personal progress (20 adult people per country >100 adults (migrants, NEET, rural areas etc)
KPIs: 5 focus groups, 1 list of common challenges – linked to the competences required to overcome them, and competences gaps, based on actual needs of these seniors, results validation
• develop an e-course, using micro-training and storytelling approaches to ensure that seniors to acquire knowledge, skills and competences
KPIs: 1 e-course in a form of app (see WPs), >12 partners' staff with certificates, > 30 participants involved
•create training material for self-learning and using a coaching approach, covering a) visualization for empowerment b) techniques to decrease stress c) power to change, and additional topics identified in WPs.
•develop 1 e-lessons learnt (guidance, e-book), supporting the training material developed for efficient and effective self- learning and personal growth.
•perform e-training for learners testing and validation1 e-lessons learnt (guidance, e-book), supporting the training material developed for efficient and effective self-learning and personal growth.

CONCEPT NOTE

Our project is KA210-YOU small scale partnership that focus on to equip youth workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to mental health issues among young people from diverse backgrounds.
- To create a network of youth workers from partner organizations who can exchange good practices and ideas on how to promote mental health and well-being among their peers and the young people they serve.
- To design and implement a series of outdoor activities that promote positive mental health and well-being.
- To organize training sessions for youth workers on how to implement eco-friendly practices in outdoor activities, with a focus on reducing waste, promoting energy conservation, and preserving natural habitats.
- To develop a set of guidelines and recommendations for youth workers on how to promote mental health and well-being among young people from diverse backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on inclusion and diversity.
- To disseminate the project results to a broader audience of youth organizations, and other stakeholders, to promote the adoption of good practices and increase awareness of the importance of promoting mental health and well-being among young people.

WORK PACKAGES

Work Package I: ADMINISTRATION

Kick off meeting, online TPMs and

The Kick off TPM is a meeting where representatives from the participating organizations will meet in person to discuss and plan the project's objectives and activities. During the meeting, the partners will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, exchange ideas, and establish a shared understanding of the project's aims and objectives. The main focus of the meeting will be to create a detailed project plan, including timelines, and roles and responsibilities for each partner. The partners will also discuss how to ensure the project's activities are inclusive and promote diversity.

Project management and administration, evaluation and dissemination activities

Project management and administration, evaluation, and dissemination activities, is a crucial part of the project's success. This activity involves managing and coordinating the project, monitoring its progress, evaluating its effectiveness, and disseminating the findings to stakeholders in the participating countries and beyond. To manage and coordinate the project, a project team will be responsible for ensuring that the project activities are implemented according to the timeline, budget, and quality standards. The teamwill also ensure that the project's objectives are met, and the project outcomes are achieved.

Final Meeting
During the final meeting in …..(EU Country ) the project team will gather to evaluate the results of the project and determine whether it has met its objectives. The meeting will take place in the office of partner NGO, one of the project partners. The team will review the project plan and assess how well it has been implemented, taking into consideration any challenges or obstacles that may have been encountered along the way. They will also review the project's budget and determine whether it has been effectively managed. Furthermore, during the meeting, we will organize a dissemination activity, which will include representatives of the mass media, local authorities, activists, and other interested parties. This meeting will be an opportunity to present the results of the project and discuss its impact on youth.

Study visit events

There will be study visit events in each country where staff will observe, report good practices to integrate into tehri youth work. Each proposed event is a 3-day guided host by partners to experience good practices. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the park and engage in physical activity, which has been shown to have positive effects on mental health through arious events such as art, sport, nature and outdoor.


Multiplier events

Multiplier event activites will take place in each partner country, hosting 20 people including educators, NGO members and press members to share and present project results.

We present you the project, which aims to create a learning management system (LMS) platform covering all aspects of employment for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), but also for employers.

The aim is to provide the resources, information, and tools necessary for young adults with MS to remain in the labour market for as long as possible, as well as to raise awareness among employers and guide them on how to make the necessary adaptations in the workplace.

The learning platform will include employment opportunities, a step-by-step guide on how to approach employers and peers at each stage of MS, information on their rights, support networks, and available public funding, but also online video training sessions on entrepreneurship skills for people who want to explore this option for their future.

Our goal is to create a tool that helps people with MS to make informed decisions about how to self-manage their working life.

Did you know that multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common long-term diseases affecting the central nervous system and the leading cause of non-traumatic disability in young adults? In fact, MS is most commonly diagnosed in people between their 20s and 40s.

The cause of MS is unknown and there is currently no cure. However, early diagnosis, treatment and support have a significant effect on disease progression and quality of life.

There are currently more than 1.2 million people with MS in Europe. The partner organisations involved in the Shape MS project are conducting a desk research in our respective countries to achieve the following objectives:

🟠 Understanding the general situation of MS in our countries.

🟠 Understanding the legal framework on MS.

🟠 Understanding services and support at national, regional, and local levels.

🟠 Understanding the working environment for people with MS.

🟠 Knowing which stakeholders support people with MS.

We will soon publish the results of the desk research and the conclusions we reach.
