Starting out at The Hacienda, and working in the mighty Eastern Bloc record store at the height of the rave scene, DJ XTC was on every major Rave flyer nationwide throughout the period. Going on to form Da Intalex with partner Marcus Intalex, releasing incredibly influential Drum & Bass during the earliest stages of its evolution. Mark XTC is currently a resident on Kool FM continuing to bring cutting edge music to a worldwide audience.

We’ve been speaking to over the last 24 hours since the devastating news of Randall’s passing.
He had previously made the most beautiful tribute artwork for our brother MC Duke and incredibly he’s been able to get this stunning piece of artwork up today.
Thank you so much for this kind gesture that we are sure all of Randall’s family, friends and fans will be absolutely thrilled to see. Thank you so much for the this, Randall meant so much to so many of us.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of DJ Randall. This is a truly devastating loss. We came up in the scene together from its very inception. Randall, along with the De Underground crew, was an integral part of its evolution. His contributions cannot be underestimated.

The parallels, connections, and camaraderie between the De Underground crew and the Subbase crew run deep. Our record stores were just a few miles apart in East London. De Underground’s Cool Hand Flex and our dear departed brother MC Fats also recorded for Subbase, and our own Winston Runtings even went to school with Randall.

When the history of Drum & Bass is discussed, particularly the evolution from Hardcore to Jungle to D&B, Randall must be cited as a driving force in that evolution. The word “legend” is often used too freely, but Randall is undoubtedly one of the reasons the music you love exists today. A legend in the truest sense.

We should honor and remember Randall always by keeping his spirit alive through the music he loved and ensuring his legacy continues to inspire future generations.

This incredible limited edition tribute vinyl picture disc celebrates MC Duke’s legacy. He began working with us in the early ‘90s and became the most prolific artist on our Suburban Base sister imprint, Boogie Times, before we collaborated with his own label, Hard Disk. This stunning picture disc features some of his rarest releases from Hard Disk, which have never been reissued since their original pressings in the ‘90s. Together, we meticulously planned and remastered these amazing tracks before Duke’s unfortunate passing. He was so excited for you to enjoy these tunes once again.

This 4 track EP includes all tracks from ‘The Darkest Knight’ HARDDISK 004 plus the promo only white label ‘My Sound’ (HD7) which has sold for as much as £95 on discogs although none have been available for over four years since 2020

MC Duke’s unparalleled talent and unwavering dedication to music throughout his life solidified his status as a true legend in the UK music scene. He made significant contributions to UK music, from Hip Hop and Rap to Hardcore and Jungle. Let’s remember the man and his music!
