Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Maria Montessori Nursery in Ealing today. It was an absolute honour to host this special occasion, surrounded by incredible teachers, staff, and the joyful children. Last month, through DramEd, I had the incredible honour of leading our DramEd Storytelling Programmes in the park, surrounded by the enchanting embrace of nature, celebrating the arrival of Spring. It was a true delight to share stories and laughter with a captivated audience.

But the magic didn't stop there! I also had the chance to catch up with my dear friend , a multi-talented force of creativity. She is an amazing actor, director, comedian, and producer, bringing laughter and inspiration wherever she goes.

These moments remind me of the power of art, storytelling, and the connections we create through shared experiences. I'm grateful for the opportunity to bring joy and spark imagination in such a beautiful setting.

On Sunday night I was in ITV’s McDonalds’s and Dodds 🎥 ! Acting is something I do for the love of it but it was what led me to starting the DramEd Licensing programmes. I know what it was like to be an actor struggling to make ends meet but pivoting into my own creative education business meant I could lead a flexible, well-paid career in between acting jobs.

Developing Empathy through drama helps us acknowledge that we share the world with people who have different experiences, values and beliefs. Let’s teach this early!

We introduce drama to children in nurseries and schools both by integrating it with formal subjects and just exploring drama for the fun of it!

We have been having a great time in our drama clubs in schools this term, with all age groups exploring themes such as Chinese New Year, springtime and nature.

All year groups have been working on the Three Billy Goats Gruff, tying the story in with an adventure through the components of Spring.

EYFS sessions have been focusing on developing self-expression through the arts, in particular using voice and movement to convey thoughts and feelings. Meanwhile, our Key Stage One clubs have been working on their performance skills and have been looking at how voice and movement can be used to build and perform the character.

Whilst still exploring the theme of Spring, Key Stage Two clubs have been refining their creative skills by creating their own work and using their ideas to build whole-class performance pieces. Much of their work this term has been based around a collection of Spring and fantastical poetry, giving them the opportunity to expand their imaginations into the realm of fairies, goblins and elves, whilst appreciating the beauty of the current season.

In 2019, this amazing foundation called The Visionary Arts Foundation was launched to celebrate and amplify popular culture and activists making a positive social impact through their global or community platforms.

Through their foundation they encourage and empower young creators to use the arts, as a sound board for discussion and to tell stories that raise awareness, tackling social issues from racism, inclusion, equality and mental health care, to climate change, poverty and youth violence.

Focused on making the arts, media and entertainment industries more inclusive and accessible in the UK, the not-for-profit Visionary Arts Foundation helps to develop and launch the careers of young creatives, including BAME, LGBTQ+, disabled and low income groups as well as anyone who feels their story is not being told in the mainstream.

I will forever advocate arts for all children by teaching children in schools, nurseries and other educational settings. And I will forever advocate for success on the stage and screen to be accessible to actors from all walks of life.

We just love it when a child has such a great time, they tell a parent, the parent tell the school and the school report back to us ☺️

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the 2021 Women of the Future Awards ceremony, an event championing women who are changing the game in their industries, it was amazing. Huge congratulations to all of this years winners and finalists. I was in awe ❤️

You can only become truly accomplished at something you love, I love my work and today I am feeling accomplished. A few weeks ago, I started teaching drama in a new nursery and from where we started to where we are in a matter of weeks is nothing short of AMAZING. The group confidence, levels of respect and kindness to one another, the wonderful imaginations and commitment to being silly and having a laugh when the time is right, is brilliant to watch amongst preschoolers…it’s my intention to make sure it’s this that lasts a lifetime.
