❄ World Refrigeration Day 26. June 2024 ❄

World Refrigeration Day raises awareness and understanding of the significant role that the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump industry and its technology play in modern life.

The science, engineering, and application of cooling touches our lives in many ways, making hot climates habitable, allowing for storage and delivery of fresh food, giving us productive work and learning spaces, enabling the manufacture of products and the operation of data centres in thermally controlled environments, and preserving medicines and other essentials for healthy living.

As a proud contributor to the refrigeration industry for nearly 100 years, we celebrate the day with of course - ice cream😀👍

Ett av suksesskriteriene til å utdanne dyktige fagfolk er et tett samarbeid mellom skole og næringsliv.

Borgund VGS i Ålesund har gjennom flere år samarbeidet tett med bransjen, og arrangerte 14. juni for første gang bransjedag for elektrofag ved skolen.
Her var det lagt opp til et spennende møte mellom skolen og elektrobransjen med tanke på å

⚡ Utdanne dyktig arbeidskraft gjennom å gi bransjen eierskap til fagopplæringen
⚡ Løfte faget yrkesfaglig fordypning
⚡ Gi flere elever på Vg1 mulighet til arbeidspraksis
⚡ Øke gjennomføringen
⚡ Lage et forum for samarbeid mellom skolen og bransje

Teknotherm var til stede på denne bransjedagen da vi ser på det som et viktig ansvar å være med og bidra til å kunne rekruttere nye unge til faget.
Thomas Rønning og Kristian Øye (dyktige service- og prosjektingeniører hos oss gjennom mange år) har ved flere anledninger vært med på arrangementer på bl.a. Borgund vg. skole hvor de har vært dommere i konkurranser og presentert kuldefaget generelt. I tillegg til at de alltid er positive til å være behjelpelige med å ta i mote elever til praksis i serviceverkstedet vårt.

One of the key success factors in educating skilled professionals is close collaboration between schools and industry.

For several years, Borgund Upper Secondary School in Ålesund has worked closely with the industry, and on June 14th, they arranged their first industry day for the electrical program.
This event provided an exciting opportunity for the school and the electrical industry to come together with the aim of:

⚡ Educating skilled workers by giving the industry ownership of vocational training
⚡ Enhancing the subject vocational specialization
⚡ Providing more first-year students the opportunity for work experience
⚡ Increasing completion rates
⚡ Creating a forum for collaboration between the school and industry

Teknotherm participated in this industry day as we see it as an important responsibility to contribute to recruiting new young talent to the profession.
Thomas Rønning and Kristian Øye (our skilled service- and project engineers for many years) have participated in various events at Borgund Upper Secondary School, among others, where they have functioned as judges in competitions and presented the refrigeration profession in general. And they are always willing to assist by welcoming students for internships in our service workshop.

🌊🚢 Nergård døper sin nye tråler Sørkapp torsdag 13. juni kl. 14.00!

Onsdag 12. juni kl. 19.00 vil Sørkapp, sammen med søsterskipene Breidtind og Senja, seile inn under Tromsøbrua i formasjon og legge til kai ved Ishavshotellet.
Dette spektakulære synet, med tre så store, moderne fiskefartøy samlet, har aldri skjedd før!

As we had the pleasure of delivering the freezing system with RSW for this vessel, we were fortunate enough to participate in the festivities today as well🥳

The Next Wave 2024 is gathering the Norwegian fishing industry to a conference in Ålesund today with interesting speakers, discussions and networking, and Teknotherm is participating👍

This year's conference theme for the Shippax Ferry Conference was "Safety, security and digitalization" - landmarks on the path to operational excellence, and Teknotherm was invited to be one of the speakers during this conference.

As a part of the conference program on Tuesday, Sigbjørn Tyssen together with Per Kristian Urkedal from Ulmatec Thermal Solutions proudly presented our advanced Thermal Energy Management System.

We're thrilled to demonstrate how this innovative technology is designed to optimize energy efficiency and sustainability, providing significant cost savings and environmental benefits for our customers ✨

Hyggelig skolebesøk📝

De senere årene har vi hvert år hatt besøk fra elever ved kulde- og varmepumpelinja ved Malakoff videregående skole, Moss, og i går var det klart for besøk av årets 2. klassinger.

Elevene fikk både et teoretisk innblikk i generell kuldeteknikk og anleggene vi produserer, og en praktisk omvisning i fabrikken hvor de fikk tatt produktene våre i nærmere øyesyn.

Det var en interessert og lærevillig gjeng som var på besøk, og hvem vet - kanskje vi om noen år ser noen av de igjen som ansatte?
Uansett - takk for et hyggelig besøk, og velkommen igjen ved en senere anledning😊

Pleasant student visit📝

In recent years, we have had annually visits from students from the refrigeration-, heat pump- and ventilation technology line at Malakoff upper secondary school in Moss, and yesterday it was time for the 2nd. grade students to come for a visit.

The students got both a theoretical insight into general refrigeration technology and our refrigeration plants, and a practical tour in the factory where they could see our produced products.

It was an interested and willing to learn group that visited us, and who knows - maybe in a few years we will see some of them again as employees?
Anyway - thank you for a pleasant visit, and welcome again on a later occasion😊

The Shippax Ferry Conference 2024 is arranged onboard Tallink's "Baltic Queen", sailing between Stockholm - Tallin - Stockholm from 13th. to 15th, of May.

Onboard you will find Jan Nordvik and Sigbjørn Tyssen from our Marine HVAC dept., and we will exhibit together with our good friends from Ulmatec Thermal Solutions.

Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2024 in Houston is officially underway!

Teknotherm is proud to be a part of this groundbreaking project for the world's largest hydrogen ships.🚢👍

We have been working in cooperation with Norwegian Ship Design on technical solutions for the HVAC- and cooling systems on these ferries. These solutions are also integrated into the HVAC system design, to optimize the use of thermal energy from the fuel cell system into heating the vessels.

Verdens 2 største hydrogenskip skal bygges i Norge Torghatten Nord har valgt norske Myklebust Verft for bygging av to hydrogenferjer, som skal frakte inntil 120 biler på Norges lengste ferjestrekning mellom Bodø og Lofoten. Ferjene blir verdens største hydrogenskip, og skal bunkres med hydrogen produsert i Bodø.

Together with several other Norwegian companies, who all possess significant expertise and knowledge in various areas related to the seafood industry, we all contribute during the expo to promote the importance of having a strong Norwegian fishing industry and export of high-quality Norwegian seafood.
