Almost There runs an Accelerator Program to support, coach and invest in ventures and entreprenuers. CEO Tom Løyche shares his why.

“Well, it is almost personal. We started from scratch ourselves. With just an idea and a big empty space to start from. We are now in a fortunate position 20 years later, where we have the possibility to support good entrepreneurs.”

Among recent investments are businesses like Noah - Lokal Mat, an ecosystem to increase sales of locally produced food and a support system to simplify trade for small-scale producers, as well as DIRI Safety Solutions, a tool designed to raise awareness of the risks workers face through RISK CARDS®. Almost There also operate Peetgården Säfvast, a 16th century farm and meeting place in Boden, as well as Foodmaker, a sustainable catering business in Boden aimed at increasing the local degree of self-sufficiency in the North of Sweden.

Noah Local Food makes it easy for the public to shop from local, small-scale food producers in their area. The company is based in Norrbotten and currently works with about 40 producers to help them reach the market with their products.

Almost There is proud to invest in Noah - Lokal Mat, sharing their vision of contributing to a vibrant countryside and increased self-sufficiency in Sweden.

“Our drive is about making it easier for small producers to reach the market. It’s fantastic to work with something so important to society,” says Malin Winsa, CEO at Noah.

This spring, Almost There is investing in Noah to continue supporting the business and its planned expansion outside Norrbotten. The investment is done through Almost There’s Accelerator Program.

“We invest in Noah because they share one of our core values, to create better business conditions for local food producers. Noah has created an empowering and fair system to support entrepreneurs. It’s a problem we also wanted to address. Therefore, it makes sense to now collaborate to increase local food production,” says Tom Løyche, CEO of Almost There.

We are happy to share insights from our recent EU24 event on food sustainability! Together with the Nätet project, funded by Vinnova, Västmat, and Värt, we dove into the theme of "Local self-sufficiency - urban food production & logistics." Our goal? To spark mindful debate and craft actionable solutions for a more sustainable food future.

At three engaging stations, participants explored:

Producers/Sources: Strategies to strengthen local cultivation and processing, enhancing competitiveness while embracing self-sufficiency.

Distribution & Logistics: Overcoming challenges in getting products from farm to table, empowering local businesses with innovative solutions.

End Users/Consumers: Understanding consumer behavior and preferences, empowering individuals to support local, sustainable choices.

By fostering dialogue and collaboration, we're not just talking about change – we're making it happen. Together, we're building resilient food systems that benefit communities and the planet. Join us in shaping a more sustainable future!

Within the construction and industrial sectors workplaces are filled with risks where people are injured every year due to inadequate safety information. DIRI Safety Solutions are planing to change that.

DIRI is a simple, digital risk management system that helps deliver customized safety information to everyone at the workplace. Founders Melinda Persson and Linda Morén view clear information and easily accessible mobile-based training as crucial keys to creating safer workplaces in Sweden, and eventually across Europe.

At Almost There, we are very proud to support DIRI by welcoming them to our Accelerator Program. We strongly believe that DIRI can help reshape how we think about workplace safety in the industry.

Almost There runs Foodmaker in Boden. A company specializing in food experiences and catering. We believe in impact through food. That food is more than food; it is a means of sustainable change. Rethinking regional development. Fueling circular business models. Accelerating impact startups. Attempting to solve world problems over dinner with friends and foes. We are almost there. Or are we just almost starting?

Founded in 1998 by Tom Løyche and Per Myrén, Almost there (formerly Changemaker) was born as a consultancy agency aimed to stir things up and facilitate change management. More than twenty-five years and hundreds of scribbled notebooks later, things have evolved. From Zero to One, we continue to seek situations where we can help people, organizations or societies take the first step from nothing to something. Learning is always at the center of the process; no one has all the answers, but we are smarter together.

We’ve established, run and sold the higher vocational educational schools Changemaker Educations and Futuregames. From this we bring with us the legacy of helping thousands of students enter and make a mark on the labour market. As well as helping companies grow with new ideas and talent. Several large European and EU-funded projects have been entered to make a sustainable impact on local societies. We continue to work with a strong focus on regional development in the North of Sweden and other remote locations around the world. We’ve also bought and reimagined a 17th century farm in Boden; now acting as a testbed for our circular methodology.

We are Almost There. We are consultants in regional development and change management. Project leaders and partners in collaborative global projects. And an Accelerator for impact startups; supporting people, organizations or societies with either big or small ambitions to make the world better.

Story in the making. Follow us in the process.
