When I started to learn about Nkrumah’s early visions some 20 years back, I was touched. 'The freedom of Ghana is meaningless unless the whole of Africa is free (and united)'. Many years later, Nelson Mandela took that vision one step further: “South Africans' freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians”. Two great Africans, strong visions. The second picture is from Ramallah, Palestine, when I visited the enormous statue of Nelson Mandela some years ago. A gift from South Africa to the Palestinians. Praying for Humankind. Peace on Earth! AMEN. May we today say: The freedom of one people is meaningless without the freedom of all! ♥️🙏🏽🌍

Christmas Cheese in the making! 🧀
Today we gathered fresh, unpasteurised cow milk from a local farmer, 25 litres, and took it straight to the kitchen. From this we got 3 cheeses. Tomorrow I will rub them with salt and then take care of them all the way up to Christmas. Wish me well! I remember Wagashi, the delicious fresh cheese from northern Ghana. Are there more cheeses in Ghana? Wishing you all a blessed All Saints!

I am convinced that Sweden grows the world’s most delicious apples! 🍏 They grow in the southern part of the country where I live, a very fertile peace of land, once upon a time a part of the kingdom of Denmark. Today we celebrate this year’s harvest with an apple festival. 🍎 Do you see the big art project, like a painting painted with real apples? A few years ago I was involved in a project close to Swedru-Agona where we tried to plant apple seedlings. Unfortunately they didn’t survive. A part from South Africa I know agriculturalists in Uganda and Nigeria who try to grow apples in tropical climates. Maybe Ghana next? 🇬🇭 I wish you all a good weekend. Probably you don’t have an Apple festival, but maybe the Yam 🍠 festivals are going on now? Please take care 🌞

In the month of August many Swedes 🇸🇪 gather in the late summer evenings to celebrate a traditional KRÄFTSKIVA. These animals (crayfish) live on the bottom of our lakes and we boil them with salt and dill. We decorate our homes with lanterns and enjoy ourselves! ♥️ Come and eat!

Me and my beautiful niece have been preparing excellent Sunday lunch 🇬🇭 today! Light soup + groundnut soup (with chicken), kokonte (please, don’t mock me ooo!), fresh boiled plantains and okros. We are not facing the wall, noooo, but each other - enjoying the moment and dreaming of a bright future. Take care, and we wish you all a blessed Sunday. FOOD FOR BEARS 🐻
The English name is Cloud Berry and it is found in northern Sweden and Finland, the area called Lapponia. It is very delicious and nutritious, and “the gold of the forests” up here. The wild bears eat it a lot! Come and eat! 🙏🏽 (But wear protection for the mosquitoes.) 🦟
