5G private networks have a vital role to play in accelerating industry productivity.

Did you know that the use cases most commonly supported by private networks today involve camera and sensor deployment for data analytics, connected workers and guided vehicles?

Going forward, the fastest way to improve business productivity with 5G private networks is to deploy it over large coverage areas and for high-mobility use cases.

In one of the articles in the Ericsson Business Review 2024, we take a look at a parcel delivery firm which introduced a private network to a logistic hub to meet the increasing demands upon connectivity in its large warehouses.

In doing so, it was able to successfully deploy a set of 5G use cases and achieve 20 percent key activity productivity improvement and 15 percent lower infrastructure capex, relative to Wi-Fi.
