International Day Against Breast cancer: Launching partnership for easier access

Today 19th October, the World Health Organisation celebrates the International Day against breast cancer with the aim of raising awareness and promoting women's access to timely and effective controls, diagnoses and treatments. 🎀

In Rwanda, there is a growing movement to inform and educate the population for self examination, and screen women for early detection of breast cancer. The government is bringing screening to the communities, and organisations like BCIEA - Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa are educating women about self examination, supporting them for referral and treatment, and creating a community to ensure that women are not alone in facing cancer diagnoses. 🎀

Addressya has partnered with BCIEA to put resource centers and partners working to support the fight against breast cancer on the map.

“At Addressya we cannot prevent or cure cancer, but we can help to make support and care more accessible by making it easy for women to find where they can get relevant help and easily navigate there” says Karoline Beronius, CEO and Co-founder of Addressya CEO.

It was a pleasure to take part in the seminar held yesterday by the American Chamber of Commerce Rwanda and European Business Chamber Rwanda. We discussed the main issues that larger businesses encounter when interacting with the informal sector as well as numerous other difficulties.
