Many of us walk around with this constant dull ache or pressure on our shoulders
Here are some common causes which we might not know due to our daily activities and posture.
1️⃣ Sling bags or heavy bags - our shoulders are naturally sloped. To make sure the bags don’t drop, we raise our shoulders and tense our neck muscles.
2️⃣ Mid back restriction - As the trapezius muscle attaches to the shoulder, if it’s not moving properly, it can cause secondary effects onto your shoulders.

My name is Gary, I’m a certified Sports Massage Therapist. Sports has been my passion since I was a kid, love to explore and challenge myself in all kinds of sports. I started out as a swimmer like most Singaporeans do and eventually venture into more extreme and expensive sports 😬
I was a sea sports instructor in my early career coaching sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. After I left my “sea” coaching career, I went on to help build the sports team in SIM for 9yrs. During my job at SIM as a Sports officer I learned and understand many sports I was not familiar with, manage the sports team in overseas competitions.
Thereafter I had a calling to go back to my first love, Swimming. I got certified as a NROC level 2 swimming coach and helped hundreds of students achieved water confidence and even winning medals for the past 5yrs.
I am still very active after triathlon, mainly in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I’m currently a blue belt in BJJ and have been on podiums in local and overseas competitions. These 2 sports have taught me the importance of dynamic mobility and strength, something triathlon has failed to make me aware of as it’s mostly repetitive movements and endurance. Because of that, I realize the importance of muscle and joint movement especially at the age of 41yrs old.
My philosophy in doing any sport is “Move better, Hurt Less”. I hope my knowledge and skills will help you move better so that you hurt less and enjoy your life and activities more!
