Our yam sago is made by cooking fresh yam for an extended period of time, making it creamy and fragrant. Coconut milk is added at the end to give it that extra flavour.
I personally find that its warm creamy texture backed by the taste of yam give me a very soothing feeling. Must try must try!

It is with a tinge of sadness that we announce that we’ll be charging a takeaway fee of $0.20 for each takeaway item from Thursday 1 July 2021.
Previously, we’ve absorbed the cost of takeaway packaging, but things have changed:
1. The Covid-19 dine-in restrictions mean that most orders are for takeaway
2. We’ve been seeing customers who take advantage of our lack of takeaway fee by requesting for takeaway even when they dine in, just for their own convenience
Takeaway boxes are not cheap, and we’re also trying to do our part for the environment by using a recyclable sugarcane pulp container for our radish and yam cakes. Heat-resistant and oil-resistant, the container is a better choice for the environment and for our customers’ health. While we would love to absorb the takeaway cost, the two reasons above mean that it has risen significantly. We are more than happy to serve you with your own containers!

開業第一週有香港人路過我們的小店,問道是否有添加臭草,並特意強調正宗港式綠豆沙是一定會放臭草!
理想很豐滿,現實是骨感的。新加坡唯一找到賣臭草的地方目前要價$80/KG,所以很抱歉未能十全十美還原港式風味。

Many people ask us, “Why do you include seaweed as an ingredient for your green bean soup? Just green bean soup cannot meh?”
Cantonese cuisine subscribes to a philosophy of food as a form of therapy and wellbeing. Every ingredient has its purpose and effect. According to the Compendium of Materia Medica, seaweed is of a cool nature, and has beneficial effects on the liver, stomach, and kidneys. It’s a good match that enhances the cooling and detoxifying effect of the green bean soup!
On our first week of business, a Hong Konger customer asked us, “Did you add 臭草(common rue) in your green bean soup? Authentic HK green bean soup must have it!” Although adding it would be ideal, the reality is that the common rue is hard to find in Singapore and costs $80/kg. Our apologies if it hasn’t been 100% original taste!

A classic Cantonese dish, it is best known as a must-have for postnatal mums during the “confinement period”.

People always ask “where did you get your recipes from ?” Here’s an answer ! A textbook with more than 40 years of history.
Say hi to the newest addition to our menu: Little Chicken Biscuits! (鸡仔饼).
Why is it called "little chicken biscuit"? Legend has it that during the Qing dynasty, in the Guangdong province of China, it was a servant girl with the name of 小凤 ("Little phoenix" or "little chicken") who created the little chicken biscuit for a guest. The guest liked the biscuit's unique blend of sweet and savoury so much that the biscuit became popular!
Besides being sweet and savoury, the little chicken biscuit is a chewy little snack. Spices are also part of the recipe, giving it a nice aroma and taste that feels like taking a bite of nostalgia.
Freshly-made little chicken biscuits are a staple in traditional Hong Kong bakeries, but they are sadly hard to find in Singapore. Hence, we're offering them here at Authentic HongKong Delights for your taste buds!
