Thank you so much for featuring us!

: 5 students developed a platform called Can Mah to help vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, with their groceries. The initiative connects these groups with kind neighbours who are willing to do a grocery run on their behalf. Can Mah currently exists as a feature on GoodHood.SG, with both platforms committed to keeping the kampung spirit alive. The creators hope the effects of their initiative will last well beyond the pandemic. 🛒📱🍊

Thank you for the feature our_sg 🙏

When five 18-year-old recent graduates heard about the difficulties for the vulnerable in getting their groceries, they came together and launched Can Mah!, a ground-up initiative to help those in need shop for their groceries and essentials. In spite of their own challenges in developing an app, their care inspired existing group GoodHood.sg to lift the team and get their program running.

Helping Singapore's seniors cope with Covid-19 outbreak 05/05/2020

Please read this article! It’s important to remember that while those of us who are younger might seem safe, there are people in danger, and then there are people who are especially in danger.

Helping Singapore's seniors cope with Covid-19 outbreak The coronavirus does not discriminate, but seniors, especially older women, are particularly vulnerable.

About Can Mah!

We are a group of five 18 year old students in Singapore trying to make a difference during troubled times.

Our web app's name is Can Mah! and we released on June 11th! We’ve partnered with fellow initiative GoodHood to optimise their grocery marketplace and have the best effect for our initiative. This idea has been developed by us independently beginning on the 25th of March. You’ll be able to find our app within GoodHood.sg, so be sure to download it!

It all started with an online article, which depicted an elderly man surrounded by empty shelves. At first, it seemed distant. However on 16th March, with the announcement of the Singapore-Malaysia border closure, people immediately rushed to supermarkets. As a result, many were left empty handed. With difficulties for many Singaporeans in vulnerable groups acquiring goods with full delivery slots and extra delivery charges, we wanted to create a non-monetised accessible voluntary network(Like a carpool, only this would be a ‘shop-pool’)to help each other out and minimise the risk of contracting COVID-19 through contact.

This page will act as a platform for our communiques and etc, as well as a means to find information to get in touch with us(which is always welcome!). We appreciate your support in our endeavours.
