🕯️Tribute to Warlito Jimenez
Warlito Jimenez, known as "Bro Lito" to all who held him dear, was a treasured presence among us. He possessed the unique ability to deliver messages that resonated deeply within our hearts and played a pivotal role in the realm of event management.
Bro Lito's impact extended to the very foundation of "OATH Inc." His visionary contributions were instrumental in its establishment. His brilliance shone most vividly when entrusted with the coordination and ex*****on of events that involved multiple organizers and agencies. His dedication was nothing short of genius.
However, it was not just the logistical feats that defined him. Bro Lito had a gift for touching the lives of the Filipino youth. This gift was most evident during the annual "Pistang Kristiyanos" celebration. The joy he brought, the guidance he provided, and the love he shared are now woven into his legacy. It's a legacy marked by enduring friendships, unwavering devotion, and boundless love. We carry his memory in our hearts, and the void left by his absence is felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
*How I Remember Bro Lito by Gerard Seow* (gbgoikos.com)
My first encounter with Brother Lito was during a Bible study in Makati, organized by the Natividads of Laguna. I vividly recall him sharing a powerful message based on Matthew 26:72, using a memorable catchphrase that left a lasting impact. Little did I know that this encounter would lead to significant developments, including the registration of Nations Gate (Oikos) in the Philippines.
As we sought to register the name "Oikos" with the SEC, we encountered a roadblock as the name was already in use. At that moment, I recalled Bro Lito's sermon, and the word "OATH" stood out. Thus, "OATH Inc" was born, representing Oikos Associates Trust House, a charitable organization based in Manila and our inaugural digital municipality on social media. It's incredible how divine connections often lead to lifelong friendships, and we have seen God's provision at work.
Bro Lito was not only an inspiring speaker but also a skilled organizer of both material and human resources. We had the privilege of working alongside Lito on two significant occasions. The first was in 2015 in Sariaya, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Jojo Flores (CCLS Bignay). The second took place in 2018 in El Nido. Throughout these events, we witnessed Lito's remarkable ability and competence in event management.
The coordination of these ceremonies, which involved multiple organizers and agencies, many located internationally, was always in capable hands. This showcased Lito's genius in meticulously planning and executing the intricacies, including travel arrangements and accommodations for numerous pastors. These events left an indelible mark on the memories of many, myself included.
However, perhaps Lito's most visible genius was his ability to inspire and influence the hearts and minds of Filipino youth during the annual May 1st "Pistang Kristiyanos." This celebration, rooted in the essence of the Kingdom, was conveyed through the music and language of the Filipino province.
This is how I fondly remember Warlito Jimenez, or "Bro Lito." He was a dedicated disciple of Christ, standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow believers, working in miracle oneness to continue the tradition of gratitude and progress. Farewell, Bro. Lito. You are greatly missed and deeply loved by the many lives you have touched.

🌊 Important Baptism Announcement for Oikosians 🌊
Greetings, Oikos family!
If you have yet to experience the profound act of baptism by immersion, we have an exciting journey ahead for you. As part of our commitment to your spiritual growth and understanding, we're introducing a new policy that will help you prepare for this life-transforming event.
Here are the steps you need to follow:
1️⃣ Your Spiritual Autobiography: Reflect on your life journey from day zero to the present. Highlight the "freeze points" and "flash points," the highs, and the lows. Share significant moments from your "dream life" and mention places and people who have had a profound impact on your spiritual journey.
2️⃣ Collect External Validations: Reach out to at least 15 family members or close associates, regardless of whether they are Christians or not. Simply ask them, "How have I made an impact or difference in your life?" Their responses will provide valuable insights.
3️⃣ Life Impact Statement: Craft a concise life impact statement in 14 words or fewer. It should answer the question, "I help _____, to ______, by _______." This statement will reveal your unique purpose and contribution to the world.
Completing these three assignments will not only prepare you for baptism but also help you discover the beautiful tapestry of God's work in your life. It will shed light on what truly makes life worth living and why tomorrow holds even greater promise than yesterday.
Please note that we will discuss baptism dates only after the successful completion of these assignments. This process is part of our commitment to your spiritual growth and aligns with our newly established academic wing at www.gbgoikos.com.
We are excited about this journey with you, and we believe it will be a transformative experience. Let's embark on this path of spiritual reflection and discovery together. 🌟
With faith and anticipation,
Pastor Gerard Seow

🇸🇬 Celebrating Singapore's National Day with Hope and Unity 🇸🇬
At OIKOS Singapore, we are a diverse group united by a common goal: to create a better world. Our mission is to address crucial challenges surrounding how we coexist, enhance our economy, and embrace different cultures and beliefs.
Throughout history, we've witnessed progress that has enriched lives. Longer lifespans, improved education, and greater access to essentials like food and water. Yet, challenges persist.
Our society stands at a crossroads. Progress seems slower, and concerns loom large. We've lost some shared bonds and face what seems like a crisis.
With unwavering commitment, King's College, a part of OIKOS Singapore, has crafted seven profound questions. These questions will guide us toward innovative solutions for a brighter tomorrow. Our inquiries include:
1. What blessings have come our way, unearned but cherished?
2. When did our passions captivate us, blurring time's passage?
3. What principles hold value, and how can we weave them into our lives?
4. How can we uplift others in the most impactful ways?
5. How do we ensure positive changes endure over time?
6. Who can we collaborate with for amplified impact?
7. How can we aid those who've suffered and are in pain?
Through collaboration, we believe in uncovering fresh perspectives and shaping a better future. OIKOS Singapore unites us, and King's College leads the way in pursuing these vital questions.
Let's work together, harnessing our collective brilliance to pave the path towards a better, more hopeful future for all.
Happy National Day, Singapore! 🎉🎈 'sCollegeSG"
Embracing the Sacred Call of Non-Levitical Ordination
In the context of the Bishop's charge, let us grasp the true essence of ordination – not a mere coronation, but a profound recognition of one's unwavering commitment to serving others. Just as there are no unbaptized believers, so should there be no unordained ministers.
Immerse your soul in the richness of this sacred act, a divine undertaking interwoven with tradition and biblical precedent. It stands as a visible and tangible manifestation of God's favor, a radiant affirmation of what many already know to be true about the devoted servants among us. Apostle Paul, a beacon of love and wisdom, exemplified the significance of acknowledging those who serve with excellence, not for their own sake, but to ensure their deserving honor and impact on others.
Beyond worldly titles and positions, God's accreditation system looks deep into the very core of your being, your character, your heart. It transcends the limits of human judgment, acknowledging the uniqueness of each soul. Every community has the divine potential to thrive and bless God in its own extraordinary way. The leadership ministry becomes a sacred channel, extending this appreciation beyond the walls of the church, honoring those who have attained autonomy, mastery, and purpose in their well-lived lives.
In this grand tapestry of life, your identity crafted by God takes precedence over your achievements or accolades. Regardless of the battles you have fought or the victories you have won, it is the essence of who you are that holds the utmost importance. Your Creator endowed you with distinct talents and gifts, each a reflection of divine artistry, awaiting to be celebrated and cherished.
So, let us wholeheartedly embrace the magnificence of ordination, for it celebrates the front end of divine favor and acknowledges the dignity of serving in the marketplace of life. Let every man and woman who dedicates themselves to service be acknowledged and recognized, not just at the gates of the church, but in the hearts and minds of all. For within recognition lies a potent force, a catalyst that ignites the flames of unwavering dedication and inspires continued excellence.
In this journey of sacred service, let us carve a path where gratitude and honor flow freely, where efforts are validated, and motivation knows no bounds. As we recognize the contributions of one another, we cultivate an environment of profound appreciation and unwavering respect for the diverse tapestry of unique souls making their indelible mark upon the world.
🙏🏼The criteria for ordination at DAVT include outstanding achievements, leadership and impact, lifetime dedication, global recognition, and influence and inspiration. Candidates are evaluated based on their overall impact and contributions to their field or society by a governing body in consultation with the Chairman of the Ordaining committee.
Join us on AUGUST 13th for DAVT 48 of Cleofe Albiso at Oikos in Geylang, on site or via Zoom.

🌿 Our hearts overflow with gratitude for the profound hospitality, the awe-inspiring beauty of Taiwan's natural habitat, especially the majestic central mountain range, and the tantalizingly fresh seafood that lingers in our souls, forever cherished.
Within the Chinese-speaking vibrant churches, we glimpsed a profound tapestry of faith, uniquely Taiwanese in worship, a passionate devotion to God that ignited our spirits. The people's open-heartedness and genuine warmth touched us to the core, leaving an indelible impression of their relentless quest for truth and understanding.

Wives as Ezers - by Pastor Gerard Seow
I want to share a verse in Proverbs 31:10. It comes as an epilogue at the end of the book of Proverbs. I want you to note the following 12 things about wives as your ezer.
In our quest for a life partner, it is crucial to remember that age, physical beauty, or material wealth do not define a wife's worth. Instead, it is her theology, her understanding of God's divine plan, that truly matters. Where do I get this from?
Proverbs 31:10, "A woman of valor, who can find? Her worth is far more than rubies."
As we continue reading, we discover that this woman's theology permeates every aspect of her life. Her impact extends beyond her husband; it reaches their children, their friends, and even society at large. Her beliefs about God become a catalyst for transformative change within the ecclesia. They empower her to walk on water and raise the dead, metaphorically speaking, as she manifests God's power and grace through her actions.
Therefore, I call upon all husbands to heed the wisdom literature's proclamation: "He who finds a wife finds a good thing." The term "good thing" encompasses far more than mere companionship. It signifies that a wife, as your ezer kenegdo, is uniquely designed to do you good, to uplift and support you, throughout the journey of life.
Reflecting on my own experience, I vividly recall the day Lianne and I exchanged vows, 38 years and 3 months ago. Despite the tragic events of that day, including the collapse of the Hotel New World, we held onto the deep conviction that we had found something truly special. We switched off the TV and chose to focus on the story God was unfolding through our marriage, rather than the external chaos surrounding us.
But my immediate focus beyond the sad events of that day, was what I had “found” (scarecrows). I had to switch off the TV that night.
I found myself as a pastor and concerned citizen having to switch off the current events of the day, no matter how immersive or tragic, in order to focus on the story God is telling through our marriage, the mountain of monogamy right in front of us.
Most men in monogamous marriages climb up sunshine mountain and when they reach the summit as they pull themselves up the final ledge what do they find? They find a group of women in a circle having bible study and doing theology.
This is the “Singapore girl” - that godly, serious, no nonsense organisational genius with a metadidomic bent of the Proverb 31 woman of valour to maximise and optimise all of life in Messiah.
In light of this profound truth, I present to you the twelve laws for monogamous husbands, guiding us in our pursuit of a flourishing marriage:
Secret 1. - Only God can provide you a wife and only God can protect you from her.
Secret 2. - She is your perfect helper and your perfect enemy.
Secret 3. - Her address is: "Eye of the storm". Live with her and there is perfect calm.
Secret 4. - Go outside and enter the perfect storm.
Secret 5. - Go outside the marriage for satisfaction and she will be the devil and hell and your worse nightmare.
Secret 6. - Go outside these marital bonds and she would be to you not pandemic but a “plandemic” of terror, swine fever, ebola and the Asian tsunami all rolled into one.
Secret 7. - You will buy her shabbat flowers every Friday because she will teach you how to live upright.
Secret 8. - Resist her ways and she will cut her hair, put on FBO (a heavy metal jacket), and call in the Army, the Navy, the Air Force to her rescue.
Secret 9. - If you live right and walk tall and stop monkeying around with God's money, your Ezer will cause the sun to shine on your parade.
Secret 10. - This woman, like the Special Ops, has been sent to accomplish a mission. In Thai, the word “mission” means to do something until finished!
Secret 11 - This woman, like the elite French Foreign Legion is on a sacred mission that must be accomplished at all costs.
Secret 12. - In the final analysis, this woman will make a man out of you. So don’t ever let God hear you complain about her vision and mission.
What I learned from my 100 hours in the ancient Kingdom of Lanna - by Pastor Gerard Seow
My journey to Chiangmai was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The depths of the Thai people's culture unfolded before my eyes, revealing their non-conformist nature that permeates every aspect of their existence. From their captivating art and culture to their profound way of thinking, they beckon us to explore and appreciate the richness of their heritage.
Thailand stands tall as a nation that has never bowed to the shackles of colonization, proudly preserving its independence and sovereignty. This remarkable history speaks volumes about the resilience and indomitable spirit of the Thai people, who inspire us all with their unwavering commitment to freedom.
Through the sacred lens of our video, "Learning the Eye," we discovered the profound connection between humanity and the natural world. It beckoned us to peel back the layers of perception, to embrace diverse perspectives, and to awaken to the divine intricacies of creation. In this revelation, we found solace, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of our place in God's grand design.
In the presence of the Thai people, our spirits underwent a profound awakening. Their unwavering commitment to their indigenous principles and their deep spirituality resonated deeply within us, touching the very core of our beings. In their humble reverence for the divine, we were reminded of the sacredness of our own faith journey and the importance of cherishing the timeless truths that have been entrusted to us.
Unlocking the depths of Thai culture through my modality research, I am captivated by their non-conformist ideals. They embrace divergent thinking and nurture a fertile ground where a multitude of ideas can thrive. Moreover, their reserved nature allows them to keep their opinions about foreigners to themselves, fostering a respectful and harmonious environment.
Thailand stands as a testament to the enduring cultivation of profound and unwavering perspectives on life, learning, and the future. When embarking on a journey to Asia, it becomes imperative to prioritize active listening and comprehensive understanding, humbly setting aside our preconceived notions and foreign ideas.
Our hosts, Dr. Preecha and Prof. Anchalee, whom we have known for the better part of three decades, have been leading the way at the Changpuak gate for many years. The Christian owners of Mountain View, Dr. Jaroon and Krisna Jittiwutikarn, have also been instrumental in this effort.
The red brick gate, a replica of the original built in the 13th century under the orders of King Mengrai, stands just a stone’s throw from the entrance to the guesthouse. Unfortunately, it has almost completely fallen down. However, it's worth mentioning that the ideals and values that had kept it there unmolested and unharmed are alive and well till today.
In the realm of healthcare, Thai traditional medicine presents a remarkable alternative to the often sterile and over-medicated approaches prevalent in the West. Its unique blend of practices offers a surprising response to the dominance of "big science."
For generations, the local community has cultivated their own ma*****na for medicinal purposes, an age-old tradition deeply rooted along the poppy belt connecting China and the West. Moreover, their culinary expertise extends beyond traditional fare, as skilled chefs cater to the discerning palates of the modern Michelin culture. And let us not forget the enchanting night markets, where a myriad of glass, wood, and stone crafts create a wonder-world of sensory delights.
In the face of foreign influences, we can't help but be inspired by their unwavering determination to carve their own path, preserving their unique identity and embracing their freedom.
This is what I learned from my 100 hours in the ancient Kingdom of Lanna: we have found diamonds "in the rough," and now it's time to begin cutting and polishing. And if God permits, we shall.
