It was a fun and exciting night sharing about the Fotona LightWalker dental laser system.

Yesterday, we conducted a Fotona lecture, live demo and hands on workshop. I spoke about NightLase® treatment in reducing snoring and Twinlight® periodontal treatment. An interesting fact about the Fotona Lightwalker is that it comprises of an advanced dual-wavelength system, comprising both Nd:YAG and Er:YAG lasers. This beautiful combination has enhanced the way I practiced.

NightLase® treatment utilises non ablative SMOOTH mode Er:YAG laser achieving collagen tightening, which significantly reduces snoring and enhancing sleep quality.

Lasers have indeed become an indispensable tool in my clinic. My practice continues to evolve and align with our vision to provide patients with a personalised and comfortable dental experience that will promote a lifelong relationship built on trust, confidence, quality of work, and exceptional patient care.

Treat SNORING with our Fotona Laser!

It is a comfortable, pain-free laser procedure that takes only four to five short sessions.

Here’s how Fotona Nightlase works:

✅ Laser energy: A trained Fotona laser dentist utilizes a specialised Fotona Laser System known as the Lightwalker. This laser emits precise and controlled energy in the form of a laser light.
✅ Targeted tissue: The laser energy is directed towards the tissues in the oral cavity, particularly the soft palate, uvula, tongue ad surrounding tissues. These common areas often becomes relaxed and obstruct the airway during sleep.
✅ Collagen Stimulation: The laser energy heats and stimulates collagen in the targeted tissues. It tighten and shrink the collagen fibres in the soft palate and surrounding tissues.
✅ Tightening and Rujevenation: As collagen contracts and tightens, the tissues become more rigid. This rigidity reduces the collapse of the airway during sleep. It helps to open the airway, alleviating mild to moderate sleep apnea.
✅ Gradual Improvement: Nightlase is administered in a series of 3-4 short treatment sessions, often monthly apart. Over time, patients often experience a reduction in snoring and a decrease in sleep apnea symptoms.

Track your snoring via an app while you sleep, and you can expect to see a decrease in your snoring even after the first treatment.

The final results should last up to a year and it can repeated with a preventive maintainence subsequently.

Dr Chew graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Wales, UK in 2003. Dr Chew spent the first 10 years of her career working in the UK, during which she went into hospital training to advance her skill in oral surgery. She also spent time in general dental practice to provide treatments under both National Health Service and private setting. After relocating to Singapore with her family, she has been spending her time in family dental clinics. With more than 19 years of experience, Dr Chew is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, with special interests in implant treatment, surgical teeth extraction and root canal treatment.

Introducing the team @ The Toothbar Dental

The Toothbar Dental is owned and helmed by Dr Phang. She graduated as Valedictorian from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Dentistry. She was awarded with the University Silver Medal, Terrel Silver Medal, Tratman Medal and SDA Book Prize, and was placed on the Dean’s List.

Dr Phang is a caring dentist who has a friendly and jovial outlook that will set you right at ease. Dr Phang started her career as a dental surgeon in a public hospital treating patients requiring complex multidisciplinary medical and dental attention.

After hospital practice, Dr Phang joined a leading family dental care practice, with strong emphasis on advanced dental technology and aesthetics. She practices with keen interests in all-rounded cosmetic dentistry involving dental lasers, teeth whitening, Cad-Cam Ceramics/Zirconia 3D printed dental restorations, clear aligners teeth straightening and dental implants.

Dr Phang has more than 14 years of experience and is well supported by her team. Ms Jenny, her dental assistant has been assisting her for more than a decade, and our team is well able to answer your all your dental enquiries.
