Time whizzed by quickly, and the day to experience the USANA yacht cruise finally came. It is an incentive given to USANA associates who have achieved good sales for Q3 2022. USANA booked 6 yachts for this event, with 90-110 people attending. The yacht set off for a quiet lagoon bay spot within Singapore water territory, and docked there for about 1 hour for water activities, and return back to mainland. Light refreshments were served on board the yacht, with plenty of opportunities to interact with fellow USANA achievers.
It was very inspiring to listen to their USANA journeys, ranging from how they are introduced to USANA, their initial struggles when starting out, and becoming the successful associates they are now. No business owner or salesman in the corporate world would ever share such experiences without holding back, in fear of being overtaken by competition. The candid sharing of their formative years in USANA really amazed me.
What struck me the most, was to learn to ask the right questions to people. This action builds trust, creditability to my words, and demonstrate value-add to the recipient. It sounds obvious to do, but yet not an easy skill to acquire. It requires good listening, maintaining a calm front while encountering strong rejection from people, and tact in handling awkward situations. I certainly encountered these situations when I talk about USANA to people. Attending the regular inhouse training sessions and learning from other peoples’ experiences, definitely prepared me to manage these situations better. This skill has high relevance and application to daily life and in a full time job. Undeniably an important skill I must acquire and refine over time, to achieve success.
We ended the yacht cruise with a group toasting session and photo taking, to commemorate this event. I feel so fortunate to be part of a team which demonstrates strong cohesiveness, professionalism and mentorship!
