Critical illness definitions will officially take place on 26 Aug 2020 but applications need to be submitted latest by 15 Aug 2020.

There will be a change of critical illness (CI) definitions taking effect on 26 Aug 2020. It involves the tightening of certain CI definitions. For example, “Deafness (Loss of Hearing)” will be amended to “Deafness (Irreversible Loss of Hearing)”.

The changes will address ambiguities that have risen due to medical advancements and health trends in the past 5 years.

Hence, it is best to secure or review your CI coverage before the changes take place so that you will not be subjected to the stricter definitions! 😄
