Zhang GuoLong, a distinguished professor at the School of Experimental Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), has dedicated decades to researching, teaching, and creating experimental installation art. His most notable work, "Flying Phoenix," is a magnificent masterpiece that deeply resonates with its surroundings, evoking strong empathy from the audience.
The monumental phoenix, poised to take flight, stands proudly between the Archery Tower and Zhengyang Bridge in Qianmen, Beijing. Its grandeur, vibrant colors, minimalist design, and majestic presence harmoniously blend with the ancient architecture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This juxtaposition of historical streets and contemporary art infuses the area with a dynamic and modern ambiance.
After spending three nights assembling "Flying Phoenix," I was reminded of the classic Chinese poetry, "The phoenix is singing, over the high hill," from The Book of Songs Daya. This colossal, singing phoenix, featured in the installation, resonates in harmony with the ancient dragon sculpture on Zhengyang Bridge, breathing new life into these historic structures and presenting a fashionable, powerful, and radiant appearance to the public.
In China, the phoenix symbolizes good fortune, courage, strength, unity, and harmonious gatherings. The art installation "Flying Phoenix" utilizes this traditional Chinese "totem" symbol as a tangible form of art, embodying the emotional concept of "Dancing with the Phoenix." It symbolizes the glorious natural landscapes and prosperous lives of the Chinese people. scene depicted in the old saying, "100 Birds Pay Homage to the "Flying Phoenix," a colossal contemporary art installation with a height of 8 meters and a length of 30 meters, created by an individual artist, marks a historic moment as it is exhibited in Qianmen for the first time. Moreover, in 2024, China is set to declare the Central Axis of Beijing as a World Heritage site, and "Flying Phoenix" embodies our sincere best wishes for the success of this recognition.

Very proud to have our little fans of Simone Legno aka Tokidoki’s who came with her parents to support Kawaiimpressionism art exhibition. 😂🤩
Art education for children from an early age is not for the purpose of making children all-rounders and acquiring knowledge beyond daily school education. Art education should be based on the happy growth of children, the comprehensive development of brain and thinking, and the cultivation of perception. It is best for children to be able to freely discover their true interests while fully contacting and perceiving art, and then carry out further development and cultivation.
