Tomorrow’s December, and almost everyone I know is planning for some form of getaway.
What a long year it has been.
But rent still has to be paid.
Salary still has to be given out.
You still have to feed yourself.
With a product funnel, your hand can stop, and cash can still flow to you.
You can still take your well-deserved break, and cash can still flow to you.
You can choose when to start work, and cash can still flow to you.
Maybe as you take your break, being in a new land can free up mind space to allow you to explore your creative side.
“What is ONE product I can do for 2024 that can free up 20% of my time?”
“What is that ONE product I can do for my clients that can add 20% more value to them?”
“What is that ONE product I can increase 20% of my bottom line?”
December is the part of the year where we reflect.
I wish you well and a more fruitful 2024 as you start productizing part of your business to achieve what else you have yet to this year.
With prices and fees going up, sometimes not everyone can afford your service yet.
But if your heart goes out to the demographic of your clients and you still want to help them in some ways, you can consider products.
Looking back at my life journey, my acne outbreak was cured by acne cream—a product.
My first 6-figure income was achieved because of an inspiring book I picked up from the library—that’s a product.
My wedding proposal succeeded partially because of a diamond ring—which is also a product.
So your next product could be life-changing for your next client even before you meet them in person.
If your clients have always praised your calming voice, you can consider audio products.
If your clients have always spoken highly of your warmth, you can consider videos.
If your clients have always cried after reading your messages because they felt moved, you can consider an e-book/journal or even a physical book.
2023 is ending. If you want to reach out to more people because you truly want to help them even though your time is limited, choose this path—product.

Without products, you simply can’t.”
During a conversation with a Shopee seller, this was my most significant takeaway.
手停口停
(Hands stop, mouth stops.)
What this means is not having enough to get by once one stops working.
In fact, as long as you have content on your laptop or mobile phone, you have a potential product out there.
You can start with a digital product.
Begin with a paragraph.
Then move on to a page.
Eventually, you will have an e-book.
Next, with increase in value, you cna increase your fees by another 5 to 10% as you bundle your service, starting with this product.
"When it comes to your business, have you ever felt pulled in multiple directions?
Stick to your ONE thing.
Here’s a list of questions I find helpful for heart-based business owners, especially if you're a coach, trainer, or educator.
1. What’s the ONE niche you’re serving? Have you narrowed down to who you want to help and aligned that with your superpower?
2. What’s the ONE problem you’re solving? Have you focused on one problem you’re good at solving and perhaps enjoy solving?
3. What’s the ONE value you’re providing? How is your value unique compared to your competitors?
4. What’s the ONE story you have been telling? How is your narrative resonating with your ideal customers and pulling them closer to you?
5. What’s the ONE channel you’re using to broadcast your story? Have you explored the social media channels that work for your niche?
6. What’s the ONE arena you have chosen to compete in? Have you considered business arenas where you have the highest chance of winning and are most familiar?
7. What’s your ONE product for:
- Lead
- New customer
- Returning customer
- Customers’ friend circle.
Before you consider all these “ONE” questions, spend some time thinking about your positioning.
How do you want to place yourself?
Imagine you need to find a spot to stand, and you can only put your two legs in a single spot.
Sometimes feeling pulled in multiple directions can be like trying to place your feet on multiple spots.
Your time and energy are precious, so choose to spend them wisely.
“My revenue 2X year after year.”
That’s what a friend said, with her products moving fast. Her dream is to dominate the US market.
Products can double your business without doubling your effort.
In fact, with proper planning like an funnel which I teach my clients, your effort gets lesser with proper systems and processes.
With only services, to double your revenue, it is either:
⁃ you double your clients (which takes up more of your time) or
⁃ you double your time seeing your clients (which will eventually lead to burnout) or
⁃ you double your fees (which is easier).
You’re simply using your time to exchange for money.
In this case, the product is YOU.
Let’s look at what products can double or even triple your revenue without taking more of your life.
🌸Here are 3 simple steps you can follow.
⁃ Create a product bundle. Instead of offering just one item, offer a bundle along with other complimentary items. This increases the perceived value, and your margin increases.
(Have you entered a clinic with empty handed and only to leave with bags of medicine? That’s a product bundle.)
⁃ Create a low or zero-cost product. Create audio/video lessons to help your client listen/watch at home. That’s for client maintenance or to help your clients get results faster.
(Have you ever gone for courses, and the teacher assigns homework? “Go watch this or listen to this before the next class.” These are paid resources as well, so factor them into your pricing for your services.)
⁃ Halve the cost price of your product without increasing your clients. This will instantly double your revenue. With services, you can’t get a cheaper you. Maybe you can, by hiring others, but that’s another story for another day.
(Have you ever tried getting cheaper sources? Leverage currency exchange, or negotiate for a lower minimum order quantity with a lower price.)
It’s normal to feel resistance to even explore products when you have been providing services for a long time.
The fatigue set in.
The tiredness increase.
The time to do what you want gets lesser.
I want to let you know that I was just like you. If I can do it, I believe you can do it too.
The same product you have created can be used for:
⁃ Lead acquisition
⁃ Recurring income
⁃ Downsell, upsell, cross-sell
This is a great strategy, especially for heart-based coaches/trainers/educators making at least $10K/month.

Heart-based business owners, are you using a marketing method that goes against your values, but you still use it anyway because you think that's the way?
I made the same mistake.
I attended courses, and the trainers went "sell, sell, sell."
It stirred a lot of resistance because I am an introvert and I don't really enjoy selling.
Nonetheless, I followed diligently, being a good student. Ultimately, I have invested $16,000, and it's better to use it.
The more I followed, the deeper I sank, the more tired I got, and the more I hated marketing.
It's like saying yes when my heart tells me no. It's like walking further and further from my goal.
It's totally not aligned with what I truly want.
It was a huge lesson for me as a productization business coach that I need to listen to my clients - to what they are not saying.
I thought sticking to my plan was providing the best value to my client.
Now, what I do is propose 2-3 solutions and get my client to choose the one with the most alignment.
And with the heart-body-soul aligned, that mostly produces the best result.
If you're feeling frustrated or tired even when you are producing results, it could be:
- You don't resonate with your current business practice, but you still do it anyway.
- You're not serving your desired clients or even dislike them, but you still do it anyway.
- You're on the wrong path, but you still continue anyway.
To minimize this, I ask myself three questions before I take on any business client:
- "Do I feel inspired by my client?"
- "Do I feel inspired by this client's mission?"
- "Do I enjoy having a conversation with my client?"
If I get three yeses, then it's a green light.
