According to Vitalik, coordinating these transitions will require improvements not only to protocol functionality, but also to how applications and wallets interact with ethereum.

South Korea-based Haru Invest has suspended deposit and withdrawal requests, citing an issue with a service partner. Registered in Singapore and operating in 140 countries, the platform raised $4 million last year at a valuation of $284 million.
Since suspending services, they have closed their offices in Seoul and deleted their social media accounts. The co-founder assured users that this was not a Rug Pull scam.

The developers of the Ordinals protocol introduced "recursive inscriptions" to enable the integration of NFTs in the Bitcoin network and reduce transaction fees.
This allows connecting independent NFTs and extending their functionality beyond the 4MB block size limit. By using recursive inscriptions, developers can create new Bitcoin-based solutions, such as complex 3D video games.
Tokens can now refer to the content of other tokens using a special syntax, making the storage of artwork and the operation of computer code more efficient.
Additionally, the Bitcoin network has the potential to have an intranet, marketplace and Ordinal browser as a web browser to explore blockchain information, analyze its ecosystem.

A Delaware judge has dismissed BitGo's lawsuit against Galaxy Digital over the cancellation of its $1.2 billion acquisition. The judge ruled that because BitGo provided non-compliant financial documents, Galaxy had good cause to terminate the transaction. BitGo plans to appeal the ruling.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has made several media appearances over the past week and appears to be actively preparing for this uphill battle. Key points from his interview include:

▪️ Regulators initially let Coinbase go public after conducting a thorough corporate background check. Then came conflicting statements, and Coinbase filed for clarification, which the SEC dismissed.

▪️ After several attempts to meet with Gensler, which was finally done online, he responded, "Talk to your lawyer, I'm not here to give you advice"
▪️ Coinbase can fight these charges in court for as long as needed
▪️ Staking services are also a target of the SEC, and although they account for only 3% of the company's revenue, Coinbase still has no plans to shut them down.

According to a study on Binance Proof of Reserves, Binance’s funds decreased by $4.4 billion between May and June 2023.
Each month, Binance discloses the amount of currency reserves in excess of customer deposits as a percentage. In other words, more than 100% of the client's funds can be recognized as the company's own funds.
Excess funds on Binance as of May 1:

As of June 1st, Binance’s excess capital ratio was:

Two Russian nationals, Alexey Bilyuchenko and Aleksandr Verner, have been charged by the U.S. Department of Justice in connection with the 2011 hack of cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox and operating illegal cryptocurrency exchange BTC-e.
The indictment alleges that they conspired to launder approximately 647,000 bitcoins stolen from Mt. Gox. Bilyuchenko is also accused of conspiring with Alexander Vinnik to operate BTC-e from 2011 to 2017.

3. The UK has a limited window of 12-18 months to secure early leadership in cryptocurrency regulation.
4. Significant concerns remain regarding whether regulators currently have the resources, capacity and technical expertise to carry out their mandates.
5. All UK regulators relevant to the industry should have a dedicated, properly resourced cryptocurrency and digital assets unit.

The U.S. Senate has voted to block President Joe Biden's $400 million student loan relief plan.
If fully overturned, the student loan payment freeze would end and borrowers would have to keep making payments without any loans being forgiven.
Biden said he would veto the measure, which had also been passed by the House of Representatives, but the Supreme Court, which currently has a conservative majority, is expected to challenge the relief plan and have the final say on the matter later in June .
