Flashback to yesterday...Still recovering from jetlag.

So I went on the first leg of the plane and read my message from a client who mentioned high prostate cancer marker readings. Immediately I went on to liase with the relevant doctor and how to arrange for my client to see him. I was so thankful that the doctor mentioned that my client could call him to discuss despite it being close to 11pm SG time. Messages went back and forth via WhatsApp before the command from the pilot was broadcasted to turn off all phone devices.

I landed in Abu Dhabi and the messages continued so that the client can understand what are the implications on choice of doctors vis-a-vis claimability of his hospitalisation plans. I sat at a cafe at the airport and worked typing messages on WhatsApp web in order to be fast.

Then I caught a small bite before boarding second leg of flight and landed in SG and the client updated that he had fixed up his appointment this week to see the doctor.

A bit later in the afternoon I received a call from my client's wife that he had gotten stroke and was warded. I checked up his coverage details and explained it to the wife. I'm also looking through how to facilitate claims for his other relevant policies.

What a weird kind of coincidence, the same day in the afternoon 3 plus pm that another client then updated that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and I went on to brief her on her policies claimability for hospitalisation bills as well as cancer payouts at 5ish. One particular plan was in question as we had set it up only recently after a review and this discovery was truly incidental on the client's part. Fine prints of contractual wording were checked and discussed by 6pm and also a doctor's urgent consultation set up for the following day 830am, a special slot the doctor gave once again for the clients I refer.

It was a day with a heavy heart...and yet a day that was also fulfilling as I embraced my role to be able to help.

I pray that for all 3 cases the clients involved may speedily recover and get back to the pink of health. I know it won't be an easy time for them or their family but I'm glad that at least finances won't be a worry.

What an eventful day it was. Definitely a day to remember in my career.

Today we made a trip to Sergovia and made a visit to the castle there. The weather is simply beautiful!

Today I received WhatsApp pictures and messages from my PA that a huge omakase fruit box had arrived at the office with a thank you note for me and that I should collect it and bring it home as it was simply too big for the fridge. :)

What a heartwarming gesture from a new husband and wife client pair whom I've had the privilege to get acquainted with for only a month due to their recent sudden hospitalisation episode.

Just last Friday I was also with another couple client pair who have been with me for 20 years as clients and we met for their investment review. We set some SRS investments and cash investments in place whilst reviewing and updating their existing portfolio with me.

They had just returned from a long trip to Japan and I left their home with a whole bunch of snacks from the land of the Rising Sun after the work appointment.

Thank you for blessing me with your appreciation, clients!! My heart is full and I'm once again reminded of the importance of the role we play in the lives of many. It's such a privilege to be able to bless through the work we do!

My amazing meet this week, Desmond Fu at an industry conference on the topic of estate planning. 23 years ago we shared a moment at our first industry conference as rookies in our AIA days where both our careers in financial advisory first began. Thank you Desmond for sending me this precious picture of us back then. It deserves a mention.
So glad that you are also now in the FA space and keeping the zeal for the profession. To more occasions of catching up!

Privileged to be able to attend the AEPA seminar at the invite by one of the speakers and learn more from various stakeholders in the Family Office ecosystem. A lovely meetup too with one of my friends from my AIA days whom I've not seen in person for years. Yes, my AIA days was many moons ago.

Fabulous times spent catching up with BDMs of insurers and investment platforms as well as an industry trainer friend this week, forging new relationships while also concretising existing ones. I even had the privilege of an unexpected meet with an industry friend who heard my voice over lunch and came up to say hi!
