Join us for a night of chamber performances and solos at the Esplanade Concourse!

Our young pianists, violinists and chamber academy students will be taking the audience through a musical journey from Bach to Disney.

Join us on the 23rd of April 2024 (Tue). Performances will take place at the Esplanade Concourse at 6.45pm and 7.45pm. Entry is free.

At TMC’s holiday camp, young pianists and violinists embrace the spirit of collaboration and rehearse in their ensembles and chamber groups. This is extremely valuable for our young students are they learn how to listen, collaborate as well as communicate both verbally and through music.

One of our students' FAVOURITE part of camp is the storytelling. What's better than listening to captivating storytelling by Uncle Clarence as he brings our students to explore the world of music. This time round, one of the books we chose was When Step Meets Skip by . The teachers paired the narrative playfully with games and movement activities on our giant staff and the kids had a lot of fun!

During the holiday season, TMC organized an exciting music camp where participants were immersed in a plethora of enjoyable activities and games centered around music education.

At TMC's biannual holiday camp, music became a medium for shared experiences, fostering an environment where children could freely explore their creativity. They were encouraged to compose and sing their own melodies. The camp provided a safe space where young musicians can collaborate and enjoy music-making and improvisation.

Immerse yourself in the ethereal world of "Youth and Serenity: A Faure Fête," another Artistry concert presented by The Music Circle. Join Cherie Khor on piano, Tang Tee Tong and Clarissa Lim on violin, Christoven Tan on viola, and Leslie Tan on cello as they perform Gabriel Faure's Piano Quintet No. 2 in C Minor Op. 115.

Faure's music, influenced by impressionism and his artistic surroundings, captures a delicate balance of emotions and introspection. Through exquisite artistry, experience the shimmering harmonies and evocative melodies that define Faure's masterwork. Indulge in an evening of sheer beauty and profound musicality as the ensemble transports you to a world where youthfulness and serenity, two seemingly incompatible virtues, intertwine in perfect harmony.

Learn about various music concepts through rhythm and song while discovering the fascinating world of transportation! This workshop is inspired by Chiang Yu Xiang’s artwork We Move This City. The Music Circle also invites you to build your own spaceship and to continue to explore the world of music and art at home.

Music & Movement Workshop: Love & Smiles

10 June 2023 (Saturday) 11am, 1.30pm & 2.30pm
Former Supreme Court Wing, L3 Foyer

Adults and kids alike can experience the joy and beauty of music-making in a supportive and inclusive environment. Led by The Music Circle, participants will sing along to musical rhymes and play percussion instruments. They will also bring back a craft activity inspired by Arahmaini’s artwork, I Love You.

The programme offers *weekly chamber rehearsals and coaching* for string musicians between the ages of 11 and 18. The Academy aims to cultivate a thriving community of chamber musicians who are passionate about improving their craft, expanding their repertoire, and developing their ensemble skills.

Academy Musicians have the opportunity to perform at *TMC's end-of-year Spotlight* event, showcasing their talents and providing a platform for their chamber music performances. The programme is designed to allow students to deepen their understanding of chamber music and connect with other musicians who share their passion.

🌟We welcome you to join us at The Music Circle Chamber Music Academy. The Academy is open to string musicians in Singapore between the ages of 12 and 18, with priority given to current TMC students.🌟

Music Circle Moments: From Mozart to the Beatles
Student performance at the Esplanade Concourse

Our students will showcase what they have learnt throughout the year in two performances at the Esplanade Concourse on Friday, 21 April. Watch as the students of TMC’s Instrumental Academy present an exciting line-up of music - ranging from the music of Mozart and Schubert to popular works by John Williams and The Beatles. Students have come together to put up this performance in chamber groups, piano duets and solo performances. This concert is also a valuable opportunity for the students to gain performance experience, some of them performing for the very first time!

One of the highlights of this performance is the violin ensembles and piano duets formed by the students of the TMC Instrumental Academy. In the process of preparing for this concert, students have worked hard to develop their ensemble skills, which are a vital part of good musicianship.

Join us for an evening of wonderful music presented by the TMC Instrumental Academy students!
