Lift System are made up of different sub-system. The modern floor indicators can display more information, i.e floor level, direction of travel, address, date and time, directory or even live TV.

The indicators form a sub-system. The driving system to move the lift up and down is another sub-system, and the indicators will take information from the drive system to display to position accordingly.

Remember the old days where the lifts indicators were simple lights that light up at that that particular floor you are at?

Hence its normal for modern indicators to malfunction. So long as the movement of the lift is normal, the lift is safe to use, because they belong to different sub-system.

Meanwhile, do report such issues through the hotline. User's feedback on such matters are important!

Lift breakdowns are not as uncommon as it seems. Reliable as it should be, safety cannot be compromised. Hence, the lift must stop operating at the slightest infringement of safety.
